I bought the Catapult A1 (c) "Clan Variant".
Well... lo behold I take it to the testing grounds and the mech lab. The HUD is neither blue nor are clan LRM available to be equipped?!
Thats the whole reason I just spent $20 on this thing because I was told clan mechs... can equip clan weapons...
I can't even find ANY information ANYWHERE online as to what mechs even CAN equip C-LRM. Is there any way I can have a refund done or something.

if you wanna run clan LRMs, buy a Mad Dog or maybe a Warhawk. Can play around with this if you wanna try builds before buying:

The (C) does not mean Clan, it means Champion mechs, which are mechs selected to be Champion mechs with a specific load out.
The first set of Clan Battlemechs (garrison mechs per lore) based on Innersphere design are set to be released next week
http://mwomercs.com/...ays-to-release/
And only Clan omni mechs and incoming Origin IIC Clan battlemechs, those with missile hardpoints are able to equip C-LRMS. There is no actual battle salvage, no IS mechs can equip Clan tech, nor can Clan omni/battlemechs equip IS tech.
Also, you are able to view a mech's load out before making the purchase. At the Store in game, click on the mech variant, then lower right corner you will see a box that says MECH STATS (has a box to expand it) then to the immediate right is a button that says VIEW IN MECHLAB. In the mech lab, you are not able to save any loadouts from unpurchased mechs, but you can switch out the load out and such to see what you can equip on it.

Well. I ended up buying the Warhawk I really hope its good. I've read that its the best clan LRM boat.
I can sell the catapult I bought for 3mil. Would that be wise or could I purchase more C bills with the MC than the 3mil C bills I would get? Because then I can just trick out the Warhawk.
I don't really want a cash refund in terms of refund, just a MC refund and scrap the Catapult if possible.
Also why do I have to wait until 4PM PDT to get my mech?

You might not be able to equip clan LRMs, but there are other ways of customizing to make the Catapult work for you.

No worries. It happens.

That's what many say. Haven't tried it myself. EBJ can lay out some LRMs, though. Really, TBR can too, but maybe not quite as well. For sheer volume of fire with C-LRMs, WHK is most likely THE way to go. Good choice.

I'd recommend keeping it, honestly. Not the greatest mech ever designed, but just as well to hold on to mechs you buy. You never know when you might get the urge to go MASTER those Catapults, and you'll have to buy three instead of two. Kinda sucks to be out a few million CB, sure. But I'd hold on to it nonetheless.
FAILING THAT, though, I'd tell you to NEVER EVER EVER buy CB with MC. Either sell the CPLT you have and take those CB, or take a refund of the MC and put it toward buying another mech or something. The conversion rate MC -> CB is pretty dismal.

No idea, bruh. Welcome aboard.

3000 MC is a lot. Personally, I'd email support and they can reverse the transaction. And by reverse I mean, take away the catapult and give you the MC back. Everyone gets one free "oops" to fix.

Any info on where I can find good Warhawk LRM builds?
I think I may hang on to the Catapult for now as I have a good bit of C Bills already saved up and I have been rocking it for 900 damage some matches with the default build.

I think you should contact MWO support for a refund of MC. As a longtime BattleTech player, I think mistaking the (c) for a Clan retrofit was an easy error to make, and PGI should be happy to help you correct it.

It sounds like you're happy with it despite it not being what you thought.
So you know however.
Every new account gets one "I made a huge boo-boo" that PGI is willing to fix. So if you didn't like it then that would have been an option. It sounds like you are pleased with your Inner Sphere mech.
"Champion" ( C ) mechs are standard mechs being sold for

Clan mechs can be bought with

Short of hero mechs which are basically amalgams of existing variants and often can be replicated using other similar mechs (you can make a Stalker heromech "Misery" out of almost any Battlemaster for example), everything can be acquired through cbills. Mechbays also can't be acquired through cbills but they can be earned for free through the CW (Faction) game which is essentially a "hardcore" mode in MWO.
Good luck.

Wooo! thanks!
That site has a guide for a LOT of the mechs in the game, as well as tier lists putting ALL the mechs worth considering into order of best to worst. More or less. Great info there for a LOT of mechs in the game, including virtually all of the real hotness. Discussion of quirks, mech geometry and hitboxes, best practices for getting the most out of the mech, and a variety of different builds. The guy's a pretty darned good player, too.
The links on the site run to Smurfy's MWO reference, which is THE theorycrafting site for MWO mech builds. That is, you can make builds in there, save them to an unlimited mech bay in your FREE (spam-free, too) account, and review/update them from time to time as the meta changes. Before you go spending money on upgrades live in the game, try it out on Smurfy and see if it works or not. Use the Weapon Lab feature to see what your DPS is at range, with and without applicable heat efficiencies, and how long you can hold the fun button without overheating.

I'd contact support, and don't use (anymore than you already may have) your Catapult. Support tends to let players do a one time "oppsie" and will reverse one MC transaction. If you wish, this could be your singular "mistake purchase" and get a refund for it. But remember, they normally only do this once per account. (And even then, not guaranteed.)
Or, your other option is to keep the Catapult anyway, and see if it's something you like.
If you are currently looking for "best LRM mechs in game", the Warhawk isn't normally one of them (but it is very good). Any mech (which can be bought with C-bills (in game currency)) can be a good mech, depending upon what one wishes to do with it. For the clans, the Stormcrow and Timberwolf can also make good missile platforms.
If you want any advise, feel free to ask. As you've noticed, there are many people willing to help around here.

What the name reminded me of:

Battletech/Mechwarrior vehicles designed to carry LRMs for long range artillery support.
Staying on subject, the design of the Catapult in the 1980s was based on the MLRS.

And its main function is to provide long range artillery support by way of LRMs to the field. Its Clan equivalent is the lighter Mad Dog (Inner Sphere nickname Vulture, as its known for hammering in the finishing blows on weakened mechs).
The Catapult is also decent at medium and close range engagements, provided numbers or a good deal of surprise from a C4 or A1 sporting multiple SRM-4 or SRM-6 launchers.
