Sorry I didn't know where to write this topic but I figured sense I'm a new player lol maybe this is an easy question anyways. OK yesterday I was playing my games at 1080p full screen no problem but today I loaded the game back up and for some reason after I enter in my password my cursor is stuck in the top left portion of the screen and the resolution seems to be low. I've been looking around and haven't seen anything about my issue after the game was released on steam. My GPU drivers are up to date I even tried uninstalling and redownloading the game but it didn't seem to fix my issue. I tried playing full screen windowed boarderless and the game is not taking up my entire screen. Someone in game told me to put the game into full screen and press alt+enter and the game does go into full screen but with reduced resolution. Anything helps I really enjoy the game and would appreciat any advice to fix my issue thank you.

Can you try running it in "Full Window" mode?

That might work. I'm sorry to say that I have never experienced this bug before, so I don't know how else to help you.

However, you are right to post this here. If we don't help you with it, we'll at least be able to point you in the right direction.

if you are running through the MWO client try the repair tool under the cog icon, and after the scan, fix errors
if under steam go to your library, right click on the Mechwarrior online, selecting properties, local files, verify integrity of game cache

with regards to the cursor problem, silly question but do you have a touch screen monitor? if so make sure nothing is pressing against it, same if you have a graphics tablet, or some sort of game controller attached, make sure there is nothing forcing it to the top left, I used to work IT support in a school and on several occasions saw a teacher put up a display around the edge of an interactive whiteboard then complain that the cursor got stuck in a corner of the screen, where something was pushing against it, if it is only happeining in MWO it would make sence if it was a game controler

I verified integrity of game cache still having issues. I do not have a controller plunged in preventing me from moving my cursor out of the corner. I can move the cursor around the screen and click things but where my cursor is and what I am supposed to be clicking is completely off. Sounds odd as a reread my post but that seems to be how a can best describe my issue. I can try steaming it for someone if they wish to add me on steam. My steam Id is _kingspade_

OK so I think I have fixed my issue after resetting my video settings and restarting the client. Now I was able to open up the settings and apply my desired settings and all seems to be properly working. The resolution is correct and I am able to play just fine. Thank you everyone for your patience and support.

Wish I could have helped more, glad to see it's fixed, and looking forward to seeing you on the battlefield.

... Just want to add that I am experiencing a similar issue. On start up the resolution seems to default to something incredibly low and obsolete, expands it to fit the whole screen, but traps the mouse cursor in an area in the top left which would fit that number of pixels! Leaving to desktop/task manager restores mouse access to the entire screen, but even after resetting resolution and system specs and restarting, the same thing happens. I actually went into a game at whatever hideous 1300x720 resolution or less that it seems to be, and it is like playing original Doom in VGA (effectively unplayable).

I have tried adding my native resolution (2560x1440) to the attributes.cfg in the profile folder of the mwo save. Deleted it. changed settings and restarted again and again. I have have just update to the latest Nvidia driver, but I don't see why that would be a problem as MWO has been working fine for months prior. I have used the repair tool in the launcher, but it didn't find any missing or broken files.

I have been playing happily on 2560x1440p max settings, so the sudden enforced 90s console settings are unusable.

System Specs:
i7 4790 @4.1GHz
ASUS Z97 Pro-Gamer motherboard
16GB DDR3 RAM @1853
STRIX GTX 1070 @ 1975-2012 Mhz with 8GB VRAM
ROG PG278Q 144Hz monitor @ 2560x1440p
Win 8.1 on Intell SSD
Samsung SSD with games
HDD with games (I think I put MWO on the HDD since its easily loaded into available memory).

If it persists I may have to try a clean download and install? Hopefully there is a faster solution...

Cheers for any suggestions!

Check what other programs are you running? Players have had issues w/CAM (monitoring program) and other programs with overlays can cause said issue.
