ok guys.. How about this. As we have seen in the past year they have been working on GUI graphics right? Main menu, home page, CW, mech lab.. even in game changes have been made. they just patched this First part of the patch in.. As of late, they have taken feed back, and made direct changes to what we see in game. So maybe now is the time, To get this ball rolling. Talk about and posting Photo-shopped pictures displaying what you guys would like seen in game.

Three things happen,

The non color blind will see the issues and get to understand that more.

Devs see in game looks and would know what to do..

Get the "mob".. err fans behind it.. Maybe now is the time it can happen for ya!

One last thing i wasn't meaning to really imply you guys haven't tried per, just in case it sounded that way. A few years back when i was playing Tropico 4, the devs on that game really worked with the players. If you read posts from the start of tropico 3, so many things we talked about ended up in the game. the players bug tracked and talked with devs in PM's to get things worked out. Many features hit the game from all that direct feed back. One of the things that got added was a color blind mode, And how it was implicated came directly from a forum post. So if you ever play tropico 4 and see that color blind mode, that came directly from the players asking, and Kayplso and Hameimont responding. Posted Image

So don't give up, this could be your time!

Instead of just asking for color blind options.... How about come up with a way, that would work for you? If you are not color blind, it is next to impossible to know the issue.. Especially, when there are so many different kinds of color blindness.

...
We've not just been asking for 'options', we've been very specific:

We want to be able to customize the HUD colors.

There's many kinds of color blindness, there's no one size fits all solution, so allowing the user to customize the HUD colors to their own preference would do this.

There's nothing more specific that needs to be suggested here, the user needs to have the ability to choose his/her own HUD color, whether through an option under settings, or a new CVAR in the USER.CFG, it doesn't really matter, the POINT is to give the user the ability to change the color, period.

I know about the different kinds.. I have friends that are red/green, but know there are others too..

But that sounds like a reasonable request.. and honestly would have to be one of the easier ones to do. I've played many games that had HUD color change options.

So... It's true.

PGI's "logic" to provide a color blindness 'solution' is to change the shape of something that can't be seen anyway.

...yay...

This is my biggest gripe against new Maps at the moment and considerable reason I dropped my plying time seriously.

Other then reticules, in the new maps with the all tones of green and red, I can't see the damn mechs, specially if they run with ECM and the game is flooding with ECM mechs.

In the previous maps, I could survive this by going to IR mode but with new maps they did something with IR mode also and it is not working that good anymore.

Out of 3-4 maps all the other maps are big pain for me at the moment and I couldn't find the motivation to play the game.

I have written and asked for the ability to just change the color of the reticule. I figured, if Battlefield 1942 could have that feature, a game as fine as MWO should be able to do it easy. Hell, I said I would be willing to get a module for that. I cannot imagine how it could be difficult.
I also asked for a torso mounted cam, that displays thru one of those hud data screens, pointing forward and backward. For gods sake, a Ford has one that warms you if you are getting ready to hit something. It seems to me the Inner Sphere or Clan would have figured that out.

Yeah me too.

Sadly, apparently NO ONE at PGI is color blind, so shape changing is the closest thing they could come up with as a solution...

Yes please

Half the reason I prefer running clan mechs is that I am partially red/green colorblind

The green-yellow HUD of IS mechs can be frustratingly hard to read or see sometimes, so the Blue/Yellow of Clan mechs is much preferred

Hell, at this point I would take an IS HUD that I can make myself in Microsoft paint

Or PGI could just rip the statem from fallout 4, where you can apply whatever amount of R/G/B that you want (unsurprisingly, my fallout 4 HUD is bright freaking blue instead of green ;) )
