Statistically, my best map. I get stuck on something every time I play it.

That's very challenging, but Bog is out from many months and pilots should know "the places" where you can get stuck, and the "the path" where you can run without problems.
Anyway I must say that I mainly pilot lights and medium, so it's easier.

Step onto that map without jumpjets in a mech that that runs 52 kph and you are gonna have a bad time. I can follow people who move through an area without issue and....stuck.

Yes it does... Situational awareness, be it a cool down or map bug, is important. You're tier 1, adapt! Hopefully the invisible walls will someday be fixed (and I contend HPG is much worse in this regard than the Bog).

Sorry, I don't think devoting massive amounts of time to learning every invisible wall in the game says anything about skill. Knowledge of the game? yes. Performance? yes. Skill? try again.

Nope, it is not my job to learn where the dev of a game screws up. it is the job of that dev to fix his screw ups.
-
On a different note, you want to adapt with re. to maps?
-
Hey, PGI, make the maps procedurally generated.
No pre-defined approach routes.
No pre-known strong positions.
No nothing.
Read the map, adapt and overcome!
Now _there_ would be a challenge where you can show your "situational awareness" and your skill in map reading.

Bog needs an abortion or two. There is too much clutter. Today, I was actually stuck between the rock butte, and two fallen trees. My MAD fell down in to the trap and all I could do is pivot.

I would love this more than anything. Even if they levels were stupid simple. They'd give lights a reason to scout, keep players from heading to a single place then stopping, it would be awesome.

The stupid sheep would still always go right... junp in to canyons to chase a light.... ball up and die in a ravine... I don't think there's any fixing that. I've come to the realization that I need to have lots of alcohol on hand any time I play MWO. I'm desperately searching for something new.

but random maps... YES!!!!!

I love the look and environment of Bog, just not getting stuck on every stupid root. This map really needs the destructible foliage treatment!

The agility nerfs didn´t make climbing the steps easier in big mechs.

Id rather get stuck in the video game bog, then go hunting in the US southern Delta before the bugs die and the poisonous snakes go into hibernation.

Guys, if you don't get bogged down in the details, you won't get swamped with feelings of impatience and frustration when it comes to map fixes.

The bog is altogether one of my favorite maps. The issue of fake stairs and not navigable roots gets me from time to time though. I understand that's part of its charm, but I think for most people it just makes it feel unpolished.

I remember when BB interviewed one of the QA guys at the Steam Launch Party and he said his favorite thing to test were the maps. The whole time she's talking to this guy I'm thinking to myself "he needs to find a new job because he sure ain't good at this one".

I love Bog. Doesn't even matter what 'Mech class I'm playing, it's always a hoot. Also statistically my best map at a 1.88 WLR (Posted Image ).

And it's not even about knowing where to not get stuck, it's all about knowing where the enemy has his forces. It's one of those maps that makes it harder to death-ball because the confines are tight and the high places have no cover. It lets 5 'Mechs hold back 12 if they pick the right spot.

I'd hate the map marginally less if both of the major hills weren't only accessible from the same side.

I'd still hate it, though- while I actually like the idea of a jungle/swamp map, the execution is lacking. Steps are also ridiculous when presented as natural terrain features. On top of that... IMO 'Mechs should be able to step right over anything that doesn't come up over their knees (you know, like anything else with legs can do), so a map full of ankle-height showstoppers really gets under my skin. New Caustic is just as annoying for most of the same reasons.
