IIC mechs are sooo much fun.. while you're alive.

I have only played a few games so far but i love these new IIC mechs.
So much firepower.
I haven't gotten less than 2 kills in any match so far, but ive also died every match so far too.

They're unquirked.

This is how fast mechs used to die (well, cXL faster than STD, but of course slower than isXL).
There's a reason the Hunch used to be a poor mech (though, this has 2 smaller hunches).

I like how Clan Tech + IS customizability isn't as OP as some people feared

But is that because they are less-good or is that because everything else is too-good? While the end-result is the same, that nuance is how we determine what direction the game can go next.

Only as strong as all the regular Clan meta mechs, just like everyone guessed.

I wouldn't jump the gun on that after a couple hours of play. I thought the same thing when clans initially dropped. Also keep in mind the recent changes to clan xl functionality and weaponry in general.

Because - as you know - customization isn't a balance point so much as determining before you even get to the mechlab whether or not the mech is good. Either its got ideal internals and its great (eg. TBR) or its got crappy gear and its bad.

This just ensures these mechs have good gear.

Lack of customization as a balance approach was pants on head stupid from day one.

If they die easy, that offsets their ridonkulous firepower and thank goodness that they have an Achilles heel of some kind. If the IS has more staying power but less overall firepower, meaning they can hang against that wall of steel, then well enough. If, on the other hand, an alpha strike from one of these things is in one-shot zone for a Marauder 3R or King Crab carrying max armor, that's not okay.

Clan armor, Innersphere hitboxes :P

I think they're alright. But I'm still expecting to see steam reviews calling them p2w.

The Highlander IIC is about as agile as a old wooden sail ship

I think the continents move faster than it accelerates if you leave the 270 STD in it.

Why in gods name would you use a STD engine in a mech that has no CT / Cockpit hardpoints? Unless you are just trying to point out that a factory default mech is bad, which would be met with a resounding 'duh'.

I hope PGI doesn't decide to nerf the IIC Mechs. I'm so tired of nerfs in this game!

Oh yeah I immediately put a 325 XL in it just wanted to see the stock loadouts, it was impressive how bad its mobility was

Nerfs are the only way to balance stuff without power creep. Deal with it.

It was actually exactly in the middle, Victor and Awesome were more agile, Stalker and Atlas less.

So you can use one side to shield.
