Anyways, what's changed? I assume a lot... it looks like CW is up and running, but I read mixed things.
I was one of the founders who got a bit perturbed about the direction MWO took, but hoping now it's a bit better and more streamlined. I just want to know what the bulletpoints are. What's changed, is there a big universe to take over planets, does it work well, is matchmaking fixed, etc?

- clan mechs, weapons and factions have arrived
- al lot of new mechs are ingame (clan and IS) and 4 unseen mechs are comming (marauder, warhammer, rifleman, archer)
- mech quirks
- new maps and some old ones got remade to fit 12 v 12
- CW is running but still in beta phase 2. attack and defend matches vs other factions and as a unit you can take planets (no bonus to it however). 12 v 12 games where everyone has 4 mechs. Beta phase 3 is around the corner.
- CW loyalty point system where you can earn faction rank, mc, c-bills, mechbays
- steam launch has just happened
- a lot of balance patches
- tutorial has been added (with primitive ai)
- rewards has been upped slightly
- regular event weeks where you can get mc, c-bills, cockpit fluff, colors, mechs and mechbays
- IGP publisher is gone and we are seeing a higher development rate of PGI
- ELO got scrapped and we have a tier system now to balance matchmaker
- group queue limit is not 3.3.3.3 per weight class but total tonnage
- new servers. North america, europe and asia servers are running

Log into the game, then select Badge and Title (they are separate now).
As for how game changed. In general - PGI woke up year ago or so, and started working. And fast. So game is full of potential once more, and maybe this time it will not be wasted. So jump in.
P.S. CW phase 3 will be ...soon. (spring 2016?)
P.S.2

There is an option to show the tag but I think it is set in the client these days.
To add to the changes above ...
- completely revised and in my opinion greatly improved UI.
- in game VOIP ... doesn't see as much use as it should but it can be effective when used.
- looking for group tools
- private matches are available ... no rewards but no matchmaker restrictions ... team leaders on both sides need premium time running I believe
- there is a fully mobile 3D camera spectator view available in private matches.
- the tutorial was mentioned but it worth mentioning again since it is way better than the "testing grounds" and it offers a few million cbills reward for running the tutorials so it can be worth doing for anyone. Also, the code was designed for reuse in any PVE projects than PGI puts together.
- some new and significantly revised maps including limited destructible terrain like trees.
- balance is probably the best it has ever been though there is still a "meta" in terms of lasers being a preferred weapon
- most of the mobility bonuses due to mech XP unlocks have been nerfed to a sane level so that the maximum boosts are on the order of 5 to 15% instead of 50% (when doubled). This significantly levels the playing field between leveled and unleveled mechs (or new and old players). In addition, the mechs generally feel less agile which actually, in my opinion, makes them feel better though there is a portion of the community who prefers the faster twitchy responses in a 75ton mech

Overall, again in my opinion, I'd say it is worth playing but I am probably biased since I play it already
