This topic will likely not make sense to many here, but I have seen a few Terry Pratchett references elsewhere on these forums, so maybe a few will get a kick out of the idea.

If the major characters in Discworld were mech pilots, what would their preferred chassis/model be?

Carrot - Atlas with a PA system to politely warn you before the alpha strike
Vimes - 3025 Wolverine (grizzled workhorse/veteran)
Angua - Phoenix Hawk LAM?
Detritus - Annihilator -2A (Four LB 10-X is about right for his crossbow)

Rincewind - something 20 tones with a 300XXL engine?
Ridcully - Timberwolf
Dean - 2750 Flashman

Granny Weatherwax - Raven -3L
Tiffany Aching - Mongoose -66
Greebo - Cougar -B

Death - Axeman -3S
Susan - Pacifist Daishi

Moist von Lipwig - Bushwacker? or some other Jack of all trades medium

The Wee Free Men - Protomechs? Battlearmor?

I completely understand what you mean and am proud of it, anyone who doesn't know really hasn't experienced written comedy yet. Personally I think Rincewind would have the most powerful yet underrated mech possible but not realize how good it is and have everyone underestimate him, even though he is winning the battle by himself. By accident. Like he always does.

Just so you know, you left out the two best characters in the series, Horace the cheese and Binky, deaths horse. I think Horace would be a catapult or maybe a raven (anything where you don't realize what is attacking you) and Binky would be the Celerity drone.
