That doesn't really tell us much. An end-of-game scoresheet with contributing items would let us see more.

On its face it looks good but. . .
Doesn't say a thing. Could be beginners luck.
Maybe you got those kills but dealt a grand total of 10 dmg for the map.
Maybe you dropped with a buncha vets against a whole team of green pilots.
Either way, keep at it and have fun.

^^^ This.

That said, if you DO manage, as a new player, to keep getting 2 kills and 2k+ XP per match, you're doing well.

Next time, get a screen grab of the match summary screen (both tabs), and we can tell you a lot more. Throw in your mech's build, and what you liked/disliked about it, and we can help you even more!

Hum, one can say some things about his performance. We have to half the XP, since it was the first victory of the day. So we are around 1200 XP. That and 160K C-Bills, both without premium or special Mech, seem decent to me or pretty good for someones first match.

I'd say keep that performance up, learn some tricks on the run and you will do fine Roughrider. But keep in mind that your stats are not just yours. In most cases they also reflect your luck with the PUGs. A good team means good stats for everyone unless someone wanders off alone and gets killed quickly. Bad teams drag your stats down on the other hand. Not much one can do about that unless you are an exceptional player.

K/D isn't terribly important. Your damage done and efficient killing of mechs is more important. I have heard it said that the more damage you do the sloppier you are at killing mechs quickly. Never be afraid to bite the dust if it means buying a win for your team!

Yes and no. If all you're doing is spreading lasers or LRMs across your target, then yes, you're being inefficient. But blowing out components (especially weapons and ammo) can have an outsize effect on recorded damage dealt. Furthermore, hammering weakened components can be one of the most effective ways of degrading the opposition's effectiveness in the early game, especially in the higher weight classes.

Looks good to me - far better than my first game Posted Image

In general I'd say aim for a minimum of 5x you own weight in damage to start with, remembering that if everyone in your team does around 325 damage there won't be an enemy team left to shoot at!

Remember to press R to lock your target and then concentrate on specific components (side torso, legs etc) ensuring you destroy them if possible and if not then stripping the armour for your mates to finish it off. If something is already red on the enemy then target that.

Learn the chassis, e.g. take out a Marauder's right torso and you probably take out its main weapon system; the Hellbringer left torso houses the ECM and a lot of energy points etc

But yep, keep up that sort of performance and you will be a great MechWarrior.
