You can do it with modules too, it's how I managed with only one radar dep module.

I keep one of most of the more common engine's and sell all my duplicates. I don't taking two seconds to remove an engine and my modules and then load them onto my new mech to save a **** ton of c-bills.

I forgot the other parts of my post....

1) BISHOP DIED??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? how is that possible? and 2 minutes in even??? In a Hunchie???????? Say it ain't so man.

and

2) Cash poor. how can you be cash poor after playing this game as long as you have.

I die... a lot in these Hunchbacked Clams.

and cash poor? 1) i don't grind despite popular impression (don't even have 300 drops on this acct this year...ONLY 8-9 a day, lol) and I experiment with stuff WAY too much because it's fun, instead of copypastaing vanillamech builds off metamechs and never touching them again in mechlab. So I waste a lot of dough, lol.

Don't beat yourself up, I was the same way. I knew I could edit them, but for some reason engine swapping while a mech was still in a match was a mental blind spot for me. I guess on some level I assumed it couldn't be done because in some weird logical way it didn't make sense.

Don't forget, that "Mech still in Match and you outside, means that Mech is Dead. They are simply allowing you to "salvage" you own Mech for parts, which is allowed at any other time, so no big diff... Posted Image

I.S. XL engines are brutally expensive for the one ST and done gambit they provide. Now Clan XL's.. lol Posted Image

Thanks for the tip! I had no idea they changed this. I normally like to spectate the end of my matches so not a big deal but good to know.

Its more like a *mind blown* moment for me.

I've got nearly every mech in the game and try to keep my inventory trim, so generally speaking I've only got one mech with an engine and modules equipped at a time. Now getting killed early is only half as frustrating hahahah.

Modules are the BIG thing to retrieve for me when I wish to move on. Although I do like to ride along most Matches because sometimes great things do happen, even after you die. ;)

In most games like MWO and some tank/ship games we tell the new guys it's best to ride along instead of trying to power grind. That way they can watch others and learn. Each game is different. I couldn't stand lights when the game first came out cause I couldn't play them without dieing in 2 secs of the match (half the time cause I broke my legs). Now that I returned cause they are bring in two of my most fav mechs of all time I notice I grind almost all Lights for the most part and do pretty decent. Faster matches set up for them. I learned this by watching other light players and there set ups. I do think the spotting system kinda sucks on here cause I been spotted and hit a mile a way in my light when I can't even hardly see the guys.

As for the engine swap thing, yah I figured that out last week when I returned. I was messing around with a setting of a mech I was still locked in battle and notice I could change and save it to the tweek build change I made. Lets just say I have a few bare bone mechs right now I stolen parts off to use with some new builds for grinding certain mechs.
