Yes it will.

It will not be amazing, but the latest Intel GPUs can run this game probably OK on lowest settings.

That poor Surface is gonna get HOT though. So chances are it will throttle. Worst case... it mya even damage the thing after an extended period :S You'll want to figure out some way to help keep it cool.

A Surface pro? That does not have a keyboard does it?
What would you use as controller?

What is your definition of running?

Use the mechlab, probably, actually be able to play a match with it. More then likely not...

If it is like other Surface tablets it only has 4 GB of RAM and uses Integrated Intel graphics which is very sub par for running a game like this. Most games now a days ask for 6-8GB of RAM and a real GPU with 2GB of Video Buffer or more.

You might get 5-10FPS using that thing...maybe. But i could be way wrong...only way to know for sure is to GIVE IT A SHOT!

It'll run Remote Desktop which will allow you to remotely access a PC that can actually run it worth a damn Posted Image

Well tried on my Surface 3 problems.
Issues.
1.Throttling
2. Very poor FPS.
3 Overheating like crazy
4. Ungainly.
So don't bother thought I'd lost my surface.

I have no idea what the cooling is like on the surface but based on what others have said that may be the limiting factor. Some of the Intel iGPUs will be quite capable of giving you 20 FPS (lowest settings), but I'd expect the surface would have a power saving version.

Just played a few games on a SP4 i5. At 1280x800 on low detail, it ran 30-40 fps. Highest resolution makes text crazy tiny. Heat wasn't an issue, fan was running but it never appeared to slow down. Touchscreen works in mechlab but not playable, I used the SP4 keyboard and mouse. I'm planning to use it play over the holidays while away from home.

The Surface Pro 4 might not run it very well but the new Surface Book might. The larger screen on the Surface Book is nice as well. The only downside is that you have to carry around a wireless mouse Posted Image

I tried on a i7 pro3 it ran but real battles wouldn't be practical at the performance level and DID IT EVER GET HOT !

Unless the pro4 is a lot more powerful and has much better cooling im in doubt.

The lag when doing this is terrible so use a lurm or streak boat.

I get my surface 4 tomorrow too. The i7/16GB version. I think it should just about play MWO- the integrated graphics and heat efficiency were improved markedly in the 6th gen core chips vs the 4th gen in surface 3 pro. Will be interesting to find out!

I guess Microsoft upgraded the v3 to v4 with double heat sinks and a bigger engine for better performance and less overheating ;)

Forgot to post back: the answer is it does work alright.

Performance is playable. Clearly you don't buy this for the best frame rates and high settings, but it was a perfectly playable 45ish fps consistently during battles etc. Fine for a bit of MWO while on a work trip!

I used low settings and a resolution of 1024x768.

Use a wireless whatever? Or get a dock and/or USB hub and connect away?
