Browsing Amazon for some rudders, I found this thing:

http://www.amazon.ca...keywords=saitek

I think it would work better than a throttle for your left hand, since you can torso twist there too.

I don't want to start the discussion mouse/keyboard is better, we all know it is. But for the people looking for immersion, like me, Instead of the old Hotas + pedals, that thing looks interesting. I dont know if it is an analog stick though, must be, for precise controls of the tractor thing...

The only drawback is the price, 200 bucks you can buy the whole Joystick + throttle, maybe even the rudder pedals too...

I know eh?

But the same virtual farmer can argue about our 500 golden mechs, lol...

The thing is, all those buttons... :) Is torso twist in MWO analog already?

I think its a different approach for MWO controls, since torso twisting with the rudder pedals must be hard to get used to...

Heh. I suspect the people who play those games are similar to the really dedicated Flight Sim enthusiasts in that they'll happily shell out thousands to get as authentic an experience as possible in the comfort of their own home. There's a market, however small it may be, for any kind of sim. A friend of mine has gotten hooked on some sort of forestry machine simulator. Can't remember what he called it, but he can't stop talking about cutting down with big machines, removing branches, cutting up logs... Like I said, there's a market for anything. :)

"Woodcutter's Best Friend-The loader stick boasts 6 control axes and a top-mounted mode switch doubles those commands. PC "

I was just looking at a big woodcuter truck for a gift for xmas. We all buy "farming" trucks for our kids, i guess this is the next step, gota live with your times.

I've been playing Flight Sims for years man, I have spent far FAR too much on a simulator set up with fancy seats, sticks everywhere, MFCDs and more buttons than three keyboards. It's a hobby I guess. And I hate thinking about much I have spent on it over the years. >.>

There is a market for everything! I want to judge people who play farming simulator, but I find flying two hours from London to pairs pretty fun, as well as learning what every single switch and dial in the A-10C does.... so what do I know? XD

I imagine that's how Unreal Tournament players see slow-paced 'Mech combat too though, no? But hey man, people will collect and make a hobby out of anything. XD

In all seriousness, and related to this: Mouse+Throttle is way better than mouse+keyboard. Same inputs, but the throttle gives you analog throttle control.

I have been using modding and using several flight sticks over the last three years for this game. I have built several combat chairs also... and use a perixx gaming mouse MX2000II and love it. Tried keyboard and mouse several times and its just not the same as using the flight stick combo. I even went as far and tore down a racing wheel set and made the peddles into left and right leg movement. I took apart a old dell keyboard and found the contacts that made certain keys work and soldered them to switches I picked up at radio shack. It was a very different playing experience for sure, and a hell of a work out. I also found using them for tag, or other presets worked better and less effort was required to relearn piloting a mech. lol

Mouse+Throttle+Pedals is even better. I use that config since closed beta.

Uh, and Track IR on top, of course :)
