This is what we should expect for any CW event until PGI decides to make changes to CW:

I'm not sure PUG stomping was the big picture of Tuk 2.

If you played as a PUG, most teams you faced were other PUG teams. And more often than not those were pretty close games. So it was more like the battle of PUG-vs-PUG, in terms of what most games were like.

Of course, if you played in an organized group or a unit, you also mostly faced PUG teams, and yes you would stomp them. But that's a biased sample of the big picture.

When I was pugging during the event, it was mainly PUGs against teams. Granted only a handful were against 12 mans, but the majority I found myself against 4 to 8 man teams on the other side and disorganized play/plans on my side.

This will continue to be an ongoing issue until it is resolved. There should be a queue time limit for teams, that allows them to gather up to face off against each other and another that attempts to have PUGs face PUGs.

Yesterday, when I was group dropping, we wiped out a pug groups first waive as they did not know how to open the gates. When we realized what was going on, we explained how to open the gates.

Did you actually play in PUGs during that event or did you just make that up? I played only PUG and mostly faced premades.

That was cool of you. It's pretty amazing there are still enough people out there at are so new to CW they don't at least have the basics down. And if they're completely new to MWO, CW isn't the nicest place to introduce them to the game.

I agree, to be a bit more enjoyable for everyone the MM should try to pit group vs group first if at all possible. At the same time, my experience pugging for the last couple of CW events hasn't been that bad either. Not generally worse than MM matches on average. I've even been on IS pugs that fought Clan 12 and 10 man groups and won.

I expect to get the 3rd Battle of Tukayyid - Defeat banner.
I mean having 2 is just not enough...

I did play, enough to collect all rewards. I faced a couple of premades, but most games were vs. pugs.

Then either you got lucky or me extremely unlucky. The majority of my games were PUG vs premade and after four consecutive defeats by premades I decided it was not worth it and stopped with the only the lower half of rewards unlocked.

Yeah, maybe it was a bit of both. I don't recall seeing any stats on how many teams had large groups during the event, so no idea what the baseline chance of facing a premade was. In 10-15 games it's always possible to get really lucky or unlucky.

I always play as a PUG and since Steam, I've faced more PUG teams than pre-made, especially during Tukayyid. You obviously get both and it depends greatly on whether you choose to attack or defend (attacking will get you many more matches against PUGs) but the 12 man vs PUG problem has been getting better.

Fighting against a 4 man "team" really shouldn't be much of a disadvantage BTW.

That all depends on who that 4 man group is and if they are on TeamSpeak together.

Having rolled with a 12 man butchering PUGs, and been in a PUG getting butchered by 12 man's, I can say this, a practiced 12 man is a fearsom weapon.... But PUG on PUG can be fun, just like 12 man on 12 man can be fun... I just enjoy PUG games more.
