Thanks, by gameplay I mostly mean practical benefits or drawbacks; such as Steiner seeing more action due to the clan boarder, amount of known units, what a more popular faction, which one is not, etc.

I'm thinking about indeed just merc'ing around, but the other hand I'm not afraid to pledge loyalty and find me a unit home.

Davion is the most familiar unit to anyone with a general knowledge of Battletech. So, a lot of new players join there.

Lots of merc factions bounce around, so there's no one faction that'll give you the "best" experience for learning. Find a unit for that. I know ours constantly bounces around to nab our members a variety of free stuff...mainly mechbays. It helps :)

Rasalhague sees the most clan action. Marik attacks a bunch of Steiner. Davion eats up Liao. That's generally how the CW map goes for IS.

I choose mine because i like the logo. I dont know much about the lore of Battletech, im a W40k fan and the big blue fist makes me feel nostalgic.

I'll make the case for Liao. Small, or possibly even smallest, in terms of numbers you get to know everyone else in the house. A real tightnit community. Also, since we are in a forever war with the largest faction, Davion, it isn't too hard to get fights in CW.

The lore aspect is also fun.
