Ok people, i know about the 3 mechs to master.. been playing IS for years.. But i am just getting into clans. You know spoiled with so many choices and such on my IS account, but a new clanner and one mech.. has me feeling the grind.. (darn pricey timbers!)

I really was considering skipping another for a bit and picking up a different mech from another weight class. (thinking medium, as i almost have the cash for it)

I know for a long time, especially IS, that double basics and speed tweak was huge.. But now with the change, it seems a bit less.. and with clans already being fairly agile with speed/JJ. and honeslty heat is not really an issue either.. got enough clan doubles stacked in my build so it runs cool enough. I am really starting to ponder if i just might as well grab a medium now, and put off the trilogy a bit.

so clanner vets, with the lesser tweaks, should i put it off for a while, or is it still just worth powering through and getting to elite?

It is always a good idea to elite the Timbies, especially since you can bring three of them to CW now. If you do not want more than one Timbie, then just keep the omnipods and sell the extra mechs after eliting them. Make sure to keep Timbie-C and Timbie-S, though.

well it's not that i don't want more than one.. It's more of a question do i need more than one sooner rather than later. Posted Image I know some mechs need 3 to shine, others are a lot more forgiving. This sorta seems one of those. Also with the changes to basics and movement, reductions, maybe it's less important? I dunno.. Having never played one before the changes, i just don't know how much they help.

20% bonus heat cap is pretty essential for Clams, due to lasers. 15% dissipation as well.

I'm a horder of mechs. I have bought all the clan mechs. Except half the IIC mechs. Only wanted the Orion IIC and Highlander IIC. I will tell you to buy all of them. Even though I hate the IceFart, and Myst Stinx I still pull them out and play them for S**ts and gigs. I would Buy the Champion or Invasion packages for the C-bill boost first. Money makers are a necessity in this economy.

Timberwolf, Stormcrow Shadowcat.
alternately Hellbringer, Stormcrow and Shadowcat

With either group you can fill out a good drop deck for CW and you will have fun in the ordinary matches.
