I'm sure this has been suggested before, but it's a simple change that would save a lot of time in the mechlab. If I like more than one build for a given mech, I should be able to save the build for later in the mech lab so if I want to go back it only takes a single click.
For example, 2 builds I like for the Ilya are the 3x UAC5 build and the 3x lbx10 build. If I want to switch between the two, I should be able to have each of them saved as a favorite build.
Another example: I was working with the heavy metal on some different builds and over the course of my experimentation, I found a good build I liked, but passed on it for what seemed like greener pastures. When I tried to go back, I couldn't figure out the right weight ratios to get the same amount of ammo I had before. It took me forever to finally get it back to the way I wanted it, and that time could have been saved if I could save the build somewhere.
To make the process simpler, maybe mech lab could also automatically put the parts on the mech when you load a saved build even if they're not in your inventory (like if you used them on a different mech or sold them) and calculate the cbill cost so you can buy them if needed.

AFAIK they are working on a way to import and export builds as XML files that are compatible with Smurfy, etc. Or some such. Been some talk about this functionality appearing in UI2.0

yeah, it has been asked before, nothing wrong though with bringing it up again, the whole community still wants it. I believe Boris the Spider is right, there is talk about it appearing in UI 2.0

+1 support for this idea
See EVE Online for how to do this right-ish. Their UI sucks but their API is top notch.

I see this already exists, so badubump.
I'm getting super frustrated with this. It's not like I want 2 of the same atlas because I happen to like different loadouts with it. It's so tedious to have to change everything around when I want a change. Please introduce a feature to save and load builds.
