Did you not look at my VOLTRON scores from last event or even Psycho Icon from older events. We're on different levels, sorry mate, try harder.
do you know how silly you sound right here?
"You did well, but uhm id doesn't count and your placement on the leaderboards in the top 10 means nothing"
Uhm why...?
"Well because you didn't score high enough, It's obvious based on your low score that you aren't good. That top 10 placement means nothing"
??
That's exactly what you sound like. You're a good player VOltorn, but you sound like a moron with this statement. Sorry

You mean those people who wanted Gauss Rifles, ERPPCs and LRMs nerfed? The creators of Laser Vomit? Biggest screw-up because Gauss Rifles and PPCs are I.S. mainstay weapons vs Clans. It sure as heck is not Lasers.

I have all the clans minus the 2 cee's in my hanger. I certainly am not biased, and in fact I feel they are possibly too weak right now, in the ballistics/missile department. Laser barf still needs to be toned down, but thats another thread.
I just figured the Orions arent on the field because, well, given the other 3 mechs: if there is anything on the IS side 70 tons and up that is seen less then an HGN, it's an Orion. I recall very few people interested in the Orion to begin with, I mean, why would they be- the TBR and rest of the clammer heavy crew is pretty damn good as it is, I doubt anyone had any expectations the Orion 2cee would be some kind of ursurper to the rankings of the clan heavy, and as such it is recieved with little fanfare and even less interest.
I know if I had bought the 2cee pack, it would be dead last in order to be fielded by me. I actually expect to see them trickle in in the next few weeks as people start getting mastered or otherwise bored with the rest of the pack.
IMO, not seeing them is completely unrelated to their performance/expectation. It just was the least desired of the pack and people aren't dropping in them yet because other new shiny's have their eye.

The right people?
McCarthyism? Elitism? Some of the most creative ideas come from the "wrong" people. From the ones deemed not knowing what they are talking about. That is why an open dialogue is key, with all voices heard and weighed on merit not "reputation".

yea ok
Listening to the "wrong people" is excatly why MWO is so small now.
period
PGI changed who they listened to about the time they had the IGP split and more people are coming back, so yes there is a "wrong" person type to listen to. Just stop with all the elitism propaganda crap.

Actually, before and up to release people clamored for the IS Orion. It's just when the geometry/hitbox reality and low hardpoints sunk in they realized why some of us were less excited.

Every change, good or bad, has had some seed of it's genesis taken from the forums.
If that is the case, then the developers have no vision of their own for the game and everything they do is reactionary to who in the playerbase says what. Having one's ear to the ground is one thing, but if that's truly the case, that is terrible.

Yup, that is pretty much exactly what happened. They started with a plan, a grand vision, then technical reality set in, Publisher pressure and someone up top having a rubber spine started to cave to certain community elements. Things have been going downhill pretty much ever since. While we have had technical improvements since then, what we never have gotten was the beast back on track to their grand vision.

Those of us that have really followed MWO pretty much believe this. PGI completely and totally lost track of the firection of their project. Plant IGP's slimy ownership and business practices and pushing NOTHING but monetized mechs on top of that and someone in the chain of command wanting to cash in on esports and such, and you have the mess that was MWO.
I really look at this Steam launch as their "true" launch. CW is in beta mode (a very deep with phase 3 soon beta mode), but MWO is firmly built. The game is paying attention to that original vision that was announced and sold. PGI has been night and day over the past year or so. There have been actual advancements outside of the next mech pack.
We'll see but I'm hopeful based on Russ overall demeanor in general. I feel more like a customer, supporter, etc. dealing with a small home grown company as opposed to an unprofessional and deceptive company out to make a quick buck at my expense. That is the biggest and best true change I've seen. PGI's overall philosophy with how they do business as a company has changed. Russ looks like a tired president of a startup company. I respect that. I don't see top level employees playing angry birds and tetris at large launch parties.
I don't see open trolling and mocking of paying customers in public media anymore.
I don't see complete and total blackout on communication anymore
Those are the changes that made me want to come back and support this company and community, not any mechanical changes in teh game. I can find my entertainment anywhere, I CHOOSE to place my time and energy into THIS community because I honestly feel like PGI isn't just a slimy company now. Honestly and truly. The game itself is and always has been fun for me. Having to deal with an unprofessional company that couldn't even figure out how to simply prioritize projects and cite ridiculous figures like $250k per map is what drove me away from the community. If you're dealing with a company like that, no matter how much you care, love, back, support, etc. the game, it will never improve because of the company behind it.
It's the exact reason I don't participate in any EA forums and communities. Outside of providing some feedback to some insiders I know for Madden, I don't bother because I know EA doesn't care and isn't going to listen anyways. THAT'S the difference between a company that truly doesn't listen and a company like PGI and the community we have here. That's why now (because truth be told I've had the ability and means for years) I'm running contests, generating interest, promoting MWO through advertising because I enjoy playing it, THAT'S how a company like PGI excels and grows. That's a grassroots. That's the true idea behind crowdfunding.
PGI is doing a great job, I wish we could completely wipe away anything Pre-IGP, but we can't. It's part of the history of MWO and PGI. It's something many of the paying customers and life-long Btech fans experienced. PGI earned every bit of ire, whether entirely their fault or not, and so I understand the cynicism. I'm cynical myself, but I like what PGI has done post IGP and the direction they seem to be going with CW and MWO as a whole.

maybe in this you are right but alot of damage has ben done in the past and even more trust has been utterly destroyed
Not many growled away players do come back when theyre fed up with a game
THe quirkpile/Nerfbash way of balancing wont give much credit to the Players attracted by the steam release
I hope some will refill the thinned out lines of clan players but have my doubts when these players are confrontet to the actual situation
imho the clan start came too early as i stated at that time what foolish me, didnt stop me from ordering the masakari pack i have to confess.
with the time there s little cynism left just disappointment,..
Maybe Pgi deserves a new start,.. but they should learn out of pasts mistakes

It's a 25 ton mech...
yeah... not gonna see it anytime soon because PGI won't make a red cent off it with how popular the low weight light mechs are
Now given that it's a 7/11 instead of 8/12 mech... I don't like to say DOA but...
Wouldn't a 25 tonner that isn't a commando be a good thing though? and I can imagine quite a few reasons why some people want the only omnimech for the inner sphere for the next few years.
However it is an omnimech, 3 quarters of the clan omnimechs are a bit worse than most IS mechs so it is easy to see how the raptor may be considered dead on arrival with these odds.

or the Raptor could Bring about Changes to MWOs OmniMech System,
and in so Doing finally balance OmniMechs with BattleMechs,
