What setting aside from resolution would I need to simulate how my graphics card will handle crytek 3 with the tesillation update. Obviously just buy the game, but im not going to buy it just to see how well it runs

If you've already got a card that will run it alright, seems to me you might as well wait until August 7th, download the client, wait for the first patch, and then upgrade if needed.

Ya but I'm impatient and wanna know know. I ran it with extreme teseillation and high everything and got decent fps. Just wondering if dx11 is more or equally as intensive as crytek with dx11

Wait, you said before you buy it... but you have the founders Veteran... and it's a free game. I'm confused?

I think he means he isn't going to buy Crysis 2. Though it does have a good deal on steam with the Maximum Edition on sale at $20...

There's always the Crytek 3 SDK you could download.

If you can find a copy of the Crysis 2 Demo, don't bother - they offlined the servers for it.

I was looking at the sdk download but it looked more like a sandbox. I want more of a benchmark like heaven dx11 or furmark I guess. And yes i meant i wasnt going to buy crysis just to bench it.

Well, i do recommend Crysis 2, if just as a decent first person shooter of better quality than CoD, at least in my opinion. Usually the benchmarks are in the Central park / last level where there is the most going on in most cases.
Even without though, you should be fine. Heaven with 4X MSAA 1.0 seems to have similar scaling to Crysis 2, though it isn't going to be an exact comparison.

I don't know a ton about the CryEngine personally, but based on other comparisons I have done I would expect that if you can run Unigine Heaven at max settings smoothly then you should be fine. I recently did a test, and the only game I found to be more demanding than Heaven was DiRT Showdown... but it had a lot more options to set, like 16x CSAA. With 'comparable' settings to what Unigine offers, I don't think it would be quite as demanding.

D:

1920x1080 or 1620x1050
shaders high
textures high
trilinear
anisotropy 4x minimum
AA 4x minimum
nothing else really matters.

even still, nothing indicates that this game will run anything higher than DX9

I'm sure you will be fine with MW:O - though I did have things like AA and AF maxed in my testing (in order to get it to be more demanding than Heaven was)

I'm pretty sure I remember a dev mention of DX11 coming in at some point too, not that it would make sense to use this particular engine and not include it, or really any engine, and not include it
