I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6 any day of the week lol

Couldn't agree more with that Sandpit. I came rather close to getting carried by six, when I put that Apache down in the desert, and had to walk back to our lines, till I got picked up by that black hawk.

My name comes from the Hungarian instrument, the tárogató. The modern version of it is basically a wooden soprano saxophone, so it looks like a clarinet, but sounds half-oboe. It is the one in the middle here:

Also, there are larger versions that exist:

It sounds like this:

- traditional gypsy tárogató

- some JAZZ tárogató (I think it's a great jazz instrument)

- more jazz tárogató compared to soprano sax

- some latin jazz tárogató

- some classical tárogató

I don't actually own a tárogató, but I do play almost every wind instrument that exists because I'm an extreme music nerd and classical musician.

That's not true.

I know that your "gato" in your nick means CAT in spanish!

Scary how the more true it gets the more time goes by.

indeed it does.

Just when I think the American political system can't hit a new low (all the Feinsteins, Willy Browns, George "Curious George" Bush and Richard "The Emperor" Chaney, the Obama years....... now people are seriously backing that buttclown trump to "fix" things? Posted Image . What's next, announcing Sarah Palin as his running mate?). and that's just what's going on north of me. Across the Sea? Oy freaking Vey.

I don't do politics, but it's rather.... er... interesting? to watch. (especially from the rest of the worlds perspective).

Reminds me why I left, not that anywhere else is necessarily better.... but at least down here it's kind of a dull roar in the background, instead of in your face front and center, 24/7.

Oh the whole bloody lot, on both sides.... like a rogues gallery from Gotham, or something. But somehow LESS competent.

When I was in university, I hung out with Poli Sci majors and participated in Model United Nations. I quit after 2 semesters when I had a startling epiphany: Those who who crave power and to be in politics are precisely the ones who should never be allowed access to it on pain of death.

Time has only gone to prove more and more I was right.

I like to hear how people choose screen names. You have a chance to rename yourself, to create a whole new identity, whats behind your choice.

I often get asked what kind of Tractor I drive. I do operate heavy equipment but that is not where I got the name. Funny though, redneck as I am, I refer to any big equipment with tires as tractors.

Im a hardware geek, I live for nuts and bolts and give my creations silly names because life should be fun.
I worked with some friends to build a server we used as a torrent tracker for educational material. Low budget and jokingly got dubbed Project J.O.E. (Just Ordinary + Extras) So after we closed down I used it for mining and my boy popped off one day with this thing farms coin like a tractor. New purpose new name, Tractor Joe.

Hands down my favorite piece of equipment I ever built, right up their with my '78 Ford F350 swamp logger Ol' Iron Sides, she really did float.

So my name here is a Tribute. I played a lot on my boys account before I made my own and when trying to pick a name we came up with this because Im a Just Ordinary pilot + Extras in my bag of dirty tricks and I farm cbills like a Tractor.

So there you have it.

Usually I go by the player name, Scourge, but I couldn't use that because I guess someone took that name already which made me very sad.
As for my current name, Coralld, it really doesn't mean anything, its just a name I used from a character I created for a story that I am making.

Pretty simple.

I'm a Steiner lover by lore. Always have. While roleplaying in 2nd Ed MW RPG, used the "Noble Scion" Archetype template..and decided to make it interesting, would use a cadet branch of the Steiner family as a favorite nephew of the disgraced (and thought dead) Frederick Steiner.

As for Bishop?

Nothing religious.

loved me some Aliens.

Oh God, I love Aliens. I knew there was a very good reason why we get along so well.

What's funny is that my usual gamer name, Scourge, was when I was playing Aliens vs. Predator 2. and what's even funnier is that I didn't even choose that name as it was given to me by a player, saying, "Damn man, your just a F-ing Scourge as that Alien." Sense I really had no name at that time, constantly changing names because none that I made really felt right, but that guy calling me Scourge, that really meant something. And from that day forward I went by Scourge as well as living up to the definition of what scourge means by becoming one of the top Alien players in AVP2.

even though it was a 90s one hit wonder...always found the truth behind these lyrics....

"Been around the world and found
That only stupid people are breeding
The cretins cloning and feeding
And I don't even own a TV"

sadly true.

*Links for reference*

When I first began online gaming back in the Counter Strike days I went by the likes of Natas because my favorite skater at the time was Natas Kaupus. It was golden also since it caused religious yahoo's to rage which was fun since I have been atheist/agnostic my whole life.

So once game devs stopped allowing such a name I went by GRiPS. Which was the first comic I collected drawn by artist Tim Vigil. I would then go on to use characters names from other titles he would draw like Eo, Omen, and Faust. When I played WoW I found multiple people using names I was on other realms and I really disliked that, especially that Grips was in use since it was always my main name. I then combined GRiPS and ViGiL cased in the same style the cover art the comic had the GRiPS name written with everything caps except the "i". So GRiPSViGiL has been my name in everything ever since and I have never needed to worry about it being taken or in use.

My thing about names is I appreciate ones that have a story or some thought behind them. Cool thread.

Big Metallica fan and loved this song when it came out. Was signing up for an eBay account around the same time.

0LeafClover was already taken.

Since then, the 5 has come to represent something that goes beyond mere luck. I have faith that someone "upstairs" is looking out for me.

enjoy that track, no matter how much people crap on Metallica these days. I still see them live any chance I can get (21 shows and counting) and still consider Master of Puppets the quintessential Metal Album of all time.
