Grabbed The Boars Head! Been eyeing that for my Atlas collection for awhile! Love my big stompy robots. My Firebrand is a solid C-Bill maker for me.
Thanks PGI, and keep up the good work.

Contact customer support support@mwomercs.com. They may not get back to you until on or after January 4 but if you bought too early, they will work with you to ensure that you are pleased with your purchase. If there is one thing I can't complain about on the game, customer service has always been fair, honest and courteous and fairly responsive (may take 1-3 business days for a response).

Mech bay 1/2 price sale are usually twice a year, once in the Spring and once in the Fall. It is only for a 2-5 day window. i think last year they may have had one to celebrate New Year's Day. I only buy what I immediately need. Hopefully the stocking stuffer event will offset what you may have spent.

It's been a while since I played my HUGINN. They probably changed the quirks. It used to be a great one vs one mech against virtually anything, most known for it's assault slaying abilities. May have to play it slightly differently where you pop up behind, shoot the SRM-4's until the rear CT is gone, then go after the CT with both MG's as well as SRM-4's. Anyway I loved the HUGINN when it had nasty quirks + SRM-4 cooldown + SRM-4 range + Elite Cooldown skill. Would fire SRM-4's like machine guns if you put the SRM-4s on chain fire. But that setup was a bit OP hence the quirk reduction.

Yes, all mastery bundles are great deals. You get a lot of premium time, sometimes a cockpit item (the statue), as well as the mech bays and the mechs. I built up most of my collection that way. Just remember with IS mechs, you will need millions of C-bills to tweak them in mech bay since they are all stock builds so they are not optimized for MWO. As a matter of fact you would literally become the one legged man in an azz kicking contest if you try to play most mechs stock.

They usually do mech bays for 24 hrs on new years.

Biggest differences quirk wise: no more balistic range increase. This means no more huggin gauss cannon ( sad day). Low engine size 1 ton ammo with a 50 % range boost was a blast w gauss. Also the mg's need to be closer. The missile quirks are not as good, but they are now more of a general quirk. So any smaller launcher can be chain fired pretty well.

Actually 2 of the mechs in a mastery bundle should be in more of a ready to play situation. One being the champion variant, the other being a hero variant. The third model however is stock, and will need some work. The hero and champion may require minimal tweaking, but not anything near a totally fresh mech.

PS: If PGI doesn't get me any mechbays, ill be forced to switch faction, something i haven't done in at least a year. (in fact, the FRR is the only faction I've been in besides lone wolf)

I hope the rest of you are able to stock up though! The bonus MC is in fact equivalent to some discount on mechbays, so there's that. Meanwhile, I'll keep wishing for REGIONAL PRICING.
Can you hear me, Santa?

For the new players: You can grind Lvl 2 on each faction with short contracts to get free mechbay, and another mechbay on lvl 6 (which is considerable more work). The free mechs from events are also coming with a mechbay...

I have to say, Top Dog and his thunderfriends have been great mechs to work with. Huginn however has been outshone by his longer nosed pokier brothers... tempted to play that as a LRM boat soon. How about the other lights like Pirates Bane and Deaths Knell?

I bought my master packs before the massive champion mech rebuilds. A lot of them were not much better than the stock variant or had weapons inconsistent with the quirks for the mech. They even had fibro ferrous armor instead of endo-steel which is much less efficient (weight wise) and required the player to spend the EXTRA cbills to remove the ferro-fibrous for the extra slots. I just recall having to redo all the mechs in the mastery bundle, just a bit less for the Hero variant. Sometimes the Champion variant already had double heat sinks and XL but this may have changed in the past year since I have bought almost every mastery pack about a year or so ago. I did not buy the more recent mastery packs such as the GRF and BNC and a few others that have come out in the past year, already had the Hero and standard variants of the offered mastery packs.

Almost every Hero mech can be fun and I've had a good time in all. HUGINN, Pirate's Bane, Sparky, Anastasia, Oxide are some of my favorites and I have them all.

Noticed the extension of the sale hasn't been reflected in game yet....
