I'm not happy at all about the changes to the mech basic efficiency ratings.
Torso twist down from 10% to 2.5%...? Acceleration and Deceleration bonus nerfed the same? Sure you get the 2x bonus once you hit elite, but that's now a total of 5%... Why bother! WHY has PGI changed this...?!
I'm a dedicated light pilot and have spent a lot of time grinding xp to gain the advantages in the basic efficiency. Light mechs NEED these boosts to be effective and stay alive against the big guys.
With the changes PGI have made to the basic efficiency, the rewards of earning xp with your mech have decreased significantly, and in my opinion has now left a lot of players short changed.

Well, considering that ALL mechs suffer from these changes, one might consider the second and third order effects. Sure, you can't pull a hairpin 180 (What's that? JJ reversal? Do eet!), but that torso twist from 20% to 5%... would that not make it that much harder FOR those larger mechs to even track lights?
Lately, I've watched many a fresh atlas simply give up trying to defend itself because of a good Cheetah pilot. Watching her singlehandedly take down an atlas, a direwolf, and a king crab in the same match seems to say that lights aren't hurting any more than big boys...

I love playing lights, and i disagree with your statement that it wasn't broken. The speed at which 100tonners could stop, turn and overall, perform manouvers, was way too high in my opinion. Especially since half of them mount doublegauss which makes lights obsolete from the get-go. I enjoy the changes. My mechs finally feel like they weigh something. That feeling of inertia was always missing for me. Remember how long it took to stop a 100 tonner from 60 kph in MW4? In MWO they are still waaaay more agile then that.

Well, and I'm not wholly disagreeing with the changes, you do realize that even 20 tons turning >10' at full speed (better than 90kph) should probably go rolling like a lopsided ball. Forget a locust, commando, Jenner, or Arctic cheetah trying to turn 90' or more. Especially the locusts (140!) barreling around at full at 100kph or more.

Hmmm, well it's interesting to hear the perspective of you other players, and that is partly what I'm seeking to obtain here. I agree regarding the maneoverability of larger mechs vs lights (in fact gave a lone king crab a whupping this way in my raven)... however I maintain that 2.5% - 5% increase is virtually pointless. I suggest if PGI maintains this, they replace these with some other form of basic efficiency? Why the hell do you want to spend XP on something so minimal?
I understand of course players are aiming towards the higher tiers, however I'm thinking of those players grinding xp, and surely they want something with some form of actual effect in the meantime?

In lore a lot of the bigger mechs had rear mounted weapons or arms that could shoot behind them to discourage lights from shooting them in the back. If we do not have those weapons or arms then we need that torso twist to have the same effect. It is basically equal to saying that an elephant gun can only shoot an elephant, but a colt 1911 can shoot anything.
