Bought 3 crabs and 3 king crabs today and spent a whole day streaming as I theory crafted builds for all of them.

Had a **** ton of fun and wanted to leave this clip here and thank everyone who spent the day watching me test various terrible builds all day.

Crabs are great little mechs and I'm looking forward to using them on the battlefield.

Hope you enjoy the video as I laugh giddily while piloting my little crab.

Crabs are like mini-Stalkers.

I'm amazed just how tanky they can be, even the XL versions are like stupid tanky :P

Most of them just run way too hot because of no quirks, but they sure soak up a crapload of damage.

Yeah they run stupid hot. On the other hand pretty much every build is fast enough to disengage so that's not really a huge problem IMO.

I wanted to like the King Crab, as it has a great design... but its just way too bulky, making them easy targets.

I only tried the 000B and didn't have that much success with them. Ammo burned out really quickly, positioning was difficult due to size/lack of speed, and terrible at brawling.

STD Crabs is the best, XL is kinda tanky, if you know where to shoot its isnt that scary. Twisting is OP in cone shaped mechs like that. 3 hit boxes in the space of most mechs CT when you get around that nose area.

WubCrab is best crab though....

27B with STD 255 and 6 Med Pulse is a pretty mean mech.

Got to admit I didn't fancy the crab but my son bought one on his account. I had a play and loved it, that will be my next chassis to master after the IIC's

Only setups I could get to run even moderately entertainingly were MPL/LPL builds. Anything regular laser just felt kind of eeeeh.

I've been grinding the event in my CRB-27, and it feels perfect for the task. The totally ridiculous tanking ability guarantees that you pretty much never die before doing your share worth >=150 points. Dual AMS deal with the Lurmageddon which always raises its (supposedly long dead) head during events.

Not glamorous, but a damn reliable performer.

I love STD engine crabs. Many a pug match i've died with both arms missing. they are tanky as hell and are a great beginner laser mech.

Crabs grew on me quick (yeah, yeah, go ahead and say it).

My KGCs sit as idle as the rest of my assaults, but on the rare occasion when I drive them, they do well... which is saying quite a bit because I'm utter trash in big, slow 'Mechs. That it looks mean as hell is just icing on the 100-ton cake.

My CRBs... they're my favorite laservomit mediums. Firepower isn't spectacular, but the tankiness more than makes up for it... it's one of the few mediums I don't mind leading a push with, if the heavies are too shriveled in the gonads to take the risk- I know I can keep it alive long enough to make a difference. For the same reason, I've often used it to stall the enemy's NASCAR push so my team has time to catch up. My KDR is consequently not fantastic in them, but that's okay. They have still managed to survive games where I could have sworn I was a goner- last Blue on the field, one leg left, one red torso, one gone, arms lying in the mud somewhere over yonder, CT stripped and yellow, multiple battle-damaged enemies closing in... fantastic heroic last stand stories are made in Crabs.

Whoa, whoa, whoa.....terrible at brawling? Dude those mechs are ******* amazing brawlers. Treat them like Dire Wolves in terms of getting into position due to slower speeds and such and you're golden.

I never cared for the KC and even the Crab is kind of Ehhh except for a couple builds.

I will admit though, the SL version is a great jumper so I use it for a rather uninsipred 3 ERLLaser build. The B version (I think) is good with 6 MPLasers and might be my favorite. The others are just kind of blah.

I think the Crab not having side torso energy is what bums me out on the Crab. Also, I kind of miss the big hit of a large ballistic on a medium (even though I thought I wouldn't).

As for the King Crab, I just hate how far apart the arms are. I was afraid the Marauder would have a similar problem, but luckily it doesn't seem to. Also, I generally don't like an Assault that is too slow (since I PUG) and the KC always seems to be too slow.

I like the King Crab lots but the Crab doesn't do much for me. Somewhat tanky due to design but all the builds run hot and laser vomit is getting old.
