Not fiction per se, but I figured this would be a better fit here than anywhere else.

I'm going to kick things off with poetry based on my experience as a mechwarrior, particularly as a pilot of a nefarious little feline that terrorized the ridgelines of MW4. The structure is loosey goosey, but I'm pulling the artistic license card as a lazy cop-out.

EDIT: I think I'm going to petition for the Nova to be one of the first re-introduced clan mechs when the clans invade, timeline be damned!

Confessions of a 7ERLL Hill-Humping Nova Cat Pilot: The Nova Cat's Dance

An alpha-striking terror, in vain they fought
The purists' antichrist, stock it was not
Patiently waiting, to spring upon its prey
Crossing into the open, now you rue the day

Its broad-shouldered saunter, regal like Nero
A perfect reflection, of our competitive ego
The competitor's choice, a staple of victory
Vanquishing all, our opponents were history

Its narrow visor, a manifestation of ridges
Especially on Lunacy, heat index of fridges
Shutdown/override, "EXPLOITS at play"
"Override is a mechanic," we'd simply say

Laser-boating the way, each and every day
Streaks of green light, showering the fray
A FLASH OF GREEN: torso is orange
A FLASH OF GREEN: blinking red
A FLASH OF GREEN: target now dead

MWO, is our next thrill
But be cautious, of every hill
For it is a new game, that we now play
But over every ridge, the Nova shall lay

I don't get it, what is this big deal about "the ridge line" ? Do people really get upset when the other side uses tactics like moving in defilade instead of just running out straight into the enemy like an *****? ?

There once was a man from Venus.
Who's Mech was Shaped like a Mech.
There also was a woman from Medina.
Who's omni was formed like a Mech.
The met on a field of battle.
Left in the wreckage was tattled.
Two shiny mechs like on a dish.
And a small trail of Coney Island white fish.

Ehh not perfect but the best I could do in 5 minutes.

If you've ever played MW4, the answer is yes. Ohhhh yes.

I'm just spit ballin' here, but...

Eardrums pound, eyeballs astound, look at those hounds
its Raeven, Viper, RD and Yyrk!
As their four mechs power up
who could have known, that the whole world was blown
as the Black Roses entered the hunt.

"Oh", you say, "These guys are old, they can no longer carry a tune."
but I would suggest, that you should not jest
for we will show up to bury you soon.

My brethren and I, we were not the first
to latch on and bring on the fight;
but do not protest, nor forestall your quest
When we show up it will be your Boon! (no Jest)

Old warriors do brag, and we have much to profess
our eyes have seen the delight
of watching them cower as we shower
them with the light of our fiery might. (Go Boom)

So, I do not envy your fear;
nor would I ever compare
your cowardice to that of the night.
So please choose not to cower,
but instead accept the flower
of a fully loaded Black Roses Full Moon!
Ha!

Armless Atlas prevailing
Glory on the battlefield achieved
Evening sun shining on wrecks looks like rust.

Now is the time
To prove
What we know to be true:
That we shall conquer all.

THE LISTENING

Truth speaks to those who'll listen

Weakness speaks likewise, tis true

Each speaks words of hope

I say You have chosen one

But do you know which you choose?

When the earth beneath shakes,
and the skies above turn to ash.
For you know a storm is coming,
and all will hear the roar...

For we are the Ghost Bears.
Your death is my glory,
my glory is your death,
and till the end we say,
my death is the glory of the Ghost Bears.

Once when I was young, i thought war was wrong. What I did not know, I could not understand. Without understanding, I watched my village die. I was told, it was for the land, that others wanted in their greed. I know hunger, I know what churning despair that only a burning gut can inflict. I know the loss of my mother, the hole inside it creates, ripped and gaping pain that never leaves, but is only dulled, yet it is worse than the burning gut. I am no longer young, or is my body hungry, still a dull pain still haunts and burns within me. I know why war is necessary now, though I still believe it is wrong. Somebody needs to stop the greed in all it's facets, all it's corrupted ways. When corruption uses Mechs for it's business, war as it's excuses, profits as it's end, I will support the hand that opposes this evil!

TIME TO STOP

Do not give fear sway,

The ground shall shake,weapons strike,

Stand while others run

White in the morninglight like a dove of war.

DENY THE WHY,MAKE THE LIE

"Filthy refuse" tells a story of pain and neglect.

The plot feels like spiders on the soul, a bitten soul, inflamed, fevered, infected.

Greasy, without hope, a waif of a thought floats on the cancerous breeze, cautious breeze, gentle for all its noxiousness.

The thought is named "why," it expects no meaningful replies, only defensive lies, excuses, flies.

In the ointment lays the poison and the cure, the balm & bomb.

Is there separation between these and me? you?

We'll see.....(DON'T POO-POO) ;)
Thanks uncle danno
