I do like Alpine Conquest but that map is rare.

I just avoid the bait and switch voting tactics since it really doesn't matter that much to me. I have preferences but I don't specifically hate any maps or game modes.

It was a really good match! It is actually a great map if you remove the center volcano, but alas, the PGI map method is to have a dominant central feature to fight around...
I have always considered Terra Therma a great conquest map. TT mainly sucks because most of time it plays by seeing who fills the center first. Conquest gets rid of that unless the players decide to play it that way.

What happens if not one player votes?
Does MWO collaps? Will there be a blackhole? Will the lobby be restored again? Can somebody answer this?

I often vote Terra Therma when I am farming my vote multiplier. I for one enjoy our new pre-match minigame
I vote it and wait until there are people fighting over River City and Crimson Strait to unleash my power and poof, Terra Therma, let the whining begin as the laser vomit people have to work some serious heat management, hahahaha.... hahahaha...... muhahahahahahaha...
But seriously, I also enjoy the new mini-game but am really tired of only playing Skirmish on River City, Crimson Strait, or Alpine Peaks.

simply click on a map and mode you like and be done with it. Dont' understand all the "anguish" and indignant attitudes form some regarding the map vote.
If you vote for what you want out of the choices everytime, you won't get say, TT ever or conquest ever. So you need to farm. Or you don't care so you make a game of it.

Really? Building a multiplier that allows you to have more weight in selecting a map
every 5-6 games
is hardly an "exploit"
It's not an exploit to build your multiplier to choose a map, but it is to vote against a map as that is not what was intended or how they wanted it to work. Like many things in this game, easy to exploit. Also if I want conquest, I can only vote for conquest due to all the switching or I waste my multiplier on assault. So how often do we get to vote for conquest? I'll say 1/3 so to get a 6x you need to play 18 ish matches.

Got news for ya, plenty of people like maps you might not, it's not trolling
Or, as stated by people in this thread, they are trolling. Even if a player in that match wanted that "bad map" it doesn't change the intent of the 'troll'.

Uhm, ok but it does. I've tested all the popular myths regarding it.
It registers votes all thew way up to 0
If a map ties the map that had the most votes first wins
It really doesn't matter. If I want to play conquest or TT, it happens just as frequently with or without my vote due to others of similar likes, or the earlier mentioned 'trolls'.

You think map voting has no real bearing on anything in the game? The map and mode are the game along with the pew pew. I'd agree that the game could be considered so lacking in depth that map and mode differences are silly and pointless, if that's what you're saying.
Also do you think PGI is going to create new maps or modes knowing that it just means the least picked are going to be chosen even less, and/or whatever they make will possibly never get played? That has a really big bearing on the game.
A lot of people think the game is too repetitive and are turned off by it. This just intensifies that, causes people to leave. Less players has a real bearing on everything in the game.
I personally like whatever I get, and players who like this game for what it is won't care much either. I just don't think they should make changes that add nothing to those who are going to stick around no matter what and takes away from potential new blood sticking around.

I floated the idea in game chat a few times with mixed reactions...

I don't care about map selection at all, but for the love of F**K, let me opt out of f**king Conquest. That's ALL I want for Christmas, Santa...
