Greeting Mechwarriors,

I am going to explain my problem right away. My Mechwarrior Online will show me an error "Failed creating the Direct3D device" after I press the play button at the client or after I press play in my steam library (I have both versions, steam and the normal client).

The error looks like this:
http://www.directupl...4p49c6g_png.htm

Specs: i5-4690k, GTX285, Sasmung SSD840 250 GB, 8GB DDR3 Ram, Windows 8.1

I am really desperate, that's why i opened this thread. I tried all the solutions in this thread: http://mwomercs.com/...irect3d-device/
but nothing worked.

I reinstalled MWO, reinstalled my graphics card driver, reinstalled directx, tried different launch options via steam (windowed, another resolution and so on), ...

MWO worked fine with my system for months, but from one day to another it just showed me this error. I really hope you can help me. My King Crabs are alone and sad without me, so am I Posted Image .

On the normal client, upper right corner, click the gears and run the Start Repair tool.

Same location, Force 32-bit to see if it will run.

Nvidia control panel, Power Management Mode, set to prefer Max performance.

Just to be sure, downloaded, unpacked this package to temp location, and ran the dxsetup.exe?

Reinstall motherboard drivers

Remove video card and re-seat it.

Do you have both DX9 and DX11 loaded? Not sure which DX Windows 8.1 shipped with but MWO needs some DX9 files to work properly.

I have the same problem after the patch. Never had a problem before and I am not a new player.

Patch came now the game no longer works.

The fixes haven't helped.

I have windows 10 with directx 11.1

Prior to patch today the game worked fine. I did play today before the patch.

Same problem here. After the patch I'm seeing the error. The previous fix found here worked for me before the patch.

However this no longer fixes the problem.

Also have this issue. My system has both the Steam and the original MWO client installed. After applying the patch to each installation, the game crashes on startup with the same error "Failed Creating DirectX 3D Device". Running the Repair Tool and reinstalling the DirectX 9.0c runtimes did not fix the problem.

Anyone having this issue after the 2/16/16 patch please see http://mwomercs.com/...ing-d3d-errors/

Unfortunately this did not fix it.
