Ok, lets say you are a heavy or assault mech. You start shooting at a dangerous enemy mech and strip it down until it's left with cherry torsos and a couple of medium lasers.

At this point, do you keep shooting until hes dead, or is it smarter to leave it for the carrion feeders and instead use your heat capacity and time on someone more dangerous?

Usually, of course, i go for the kill, but lately ive been trying to conscientiously switch targets as soon as the threat is under control.

What do you guys think? Are there circumstances where you'd leave a crippled enemy for teammates to deal with?

If there is something else to shoot, I generally move on. Otherwise I'll try to get the kill. Shooting at something that can't do much, if any, damage just gives the people who can do significant damage free and unperturbed shots on you and others.

I deal with threats with the largest threat first. If there's nothing better to shoot, he dies. If I'm pugging and my team is too dumb to ignore the fully armored stick, I'll help put it down if I can so they can focus on real targets as well (seriously, you're taking fire, but you just need to kill the stick of an Atlas with full CT armor. What are you thinking?). If there is something very close, I use him as bait to draw the next guy in. If it's a brawl and I can use that stalker as some mobile cover, he gets to live for another minute.

And I consider drawing out a TK by taking cover behind the stick as a bonus and award myself 100 space cookies every time. Forced TK's >>>> all else.

I hate when ppl shoot, let's say, a stripped Atlas with barely or no weapons, while the rest of his team is around them and still in combat shape. That's just killwhoring and might cost the whole match.
