Now granted, this could very well be a fleeting moment and things could go back in the Klans' favor. But up until this point people have been declaring that it's been nothing but the Klans facerolling the IS, thus proving that Klan mechs are still unbalanced versus Inner Sphere mechs. In light of this reversal, do people still feel the same way about Klan versus IS mech balancing? Is the current win percentages just a fluke or more indicative of another step in the right direction towards balancing?

(Note: These percentages are only reflective of the current state of the event as of the date and time located at the bottom right corner of the pic, Eastern Standard Time)

(Note: The misspelling of "Clans" is intentional, because I don't find the derogatory term "clam" derogatory enough if you know the BattleTech lore of the test-tube-born genetically tailored to be the superior ubermenschen caste policies of the Clans Posted Image )

The filthy Clans are losing so they're getting desperate and are doing scrub tactics like base zerging for a quick win when they don't realise people are trying to get points for personal challenges. Absolutely disgusting.

Some of the larger units were nice enough to send out 2-3 mechs for us solo pugtrash peons to mooch points off before they kill us. Kudos to them. I'll take my points any way I can get them Posted Image

As a merc who's been dropping Clan for this event, I personally feel that the balance may be in the favor of the IS, provided they play well together and use cover to their advantage. It may just be me, but I feel like the Clans have a hard time dealing with IS mechs up close. I could be totally off, though.

LOL no, IS is getting face rolled because they have almosy NO good pilots. theres over 5 comp teams on the clan side, there are half as many on the IS side. The only reason its tipping now is almost all the clans who participated in the event finished it in the first day.

(shh dont tell anyone but IS tech beats clans currently, most of the mercs who joined clans wanted a challenge. IS just sucks this bad.)

Last time ended close. If IS doesn't win, Its not a balance problem.

I would take this post more seriously if you bothered not to compare a set of players in a GAME to a prolific hate group of white supremacists who have murdered scores of people simply because of the color of their skin or their sexual orientation.

Stay classy.

Not the players, the Klans as written up in the lore. They were known to have a genuine eugenics program going on, declared all non-eugenically bred humans to be "freebirth" untermensch, separated their own society into castes (where all other castes were subservient to the warrior caste), and then went and slaughtered their way towards an attempt to retake the Earth by force of arms.

There's another wargame out there that's even more grim than that: Warhammer 40k. Perhaps you've heard of it? The main "protagonists" of the setting (The Imperium) sport a disturbing amount of pseudo-Na zi symbols, persecute anybody who doesn't fall in line with their official state religion, and genocide entire alien races as a standard operating procedure. Let's face it: They're outright Na zis. And I call them that at the gaming table. That said, I fully realize that the PLAYERS who choose to play Imperium forces aren't necessarily Na zis IRL, just like how I understand players who play German tanks in World of Tanks aren't real life Na zis either. Nor anybody playing Germany in any World War 2 themed wargame.

(Note: Na zi is intentionally misspelled because there's a word filter on it in this forum)

I make absolutely no excuses for the complete backwater medieval mentality of the entire Inner Sphere. The whole damn BattleTech universe is pretty horrific, all told. I just calls it as I sees it.

I know very well the lore, having played both for the better part of 2 decades.

Still unacceptable equating players of a game to what is essentially a domestic terrorist organization. Rationalize it all you want, but using 'lore' as an excuse doesn't cut it.

Again: I'm not equating the players of the Clans in the game to the KKK. I'm equating the Clans in the BattleTech lore as such.

How dare people play the event and the game mode, instead of for the personal challenge side quest!

Yes, people playing the game mode is disgusting, just like capping bases in Assault and Conquest in the public queues. Posted Image

As of this moment, the Inner Sphere is almost at 51% win rate while the KKKlans are almost at 49%

Seconded. You don't get to call Clan players the KKK and not expect us to get pissed off. Enjoy your forum vacation.

If it's bigotry against a fictional sci-fi faction of genetically engineered fascists, then guilty as charged I guess. I'm not fond of the real life KKK or neo-Na zis either.

we just demolished a cheetah rush tonight. We just called out the contacts and regrouped. Formed our firing lines and melted them away. It's not hard and has less to do with mechs an builds than strategy and not hitting the panic button.
