The voting system is great! We no longer have to split the player base queue into fragments PRIOR to matchmaking search, so wait times are seriously down in comparison to the old system (PSR Tiers aside, since they are a separate variable).

The current system creates a matchmaking instance by searching against ALL players, so search times go seriously down. This is much better than having to search within small subqueues (where people use the old check box system) that only have a fraction of the current active players in them.

There is one small problem with he current voting system, though. This problem causes the Voting Metagame to screw things up...

We need to remove the vote percentage indicators. If we remove the percent indicators, then people will stop trying to game the system since they will have no idea if their attempt to farm multipliers will work or not. A blind vote is the best vote.

If we remove the vote percentage indicators, then voting will be more honest and fewer people will vote for a map/mode they do not want in some attempt to exploit the multiplier system.

I'm not a fan of the voting system. it tries to force me to play maps/modes that I don't find to be fun. Since I play video games to have fun, it's counter-productive to me. I just quit the match and when the disconnect timer gets over 2 min, I just play a different game. I play less now because of the voting system.

Agree with the OP. Please make map voting blind, this mini game is really dumb.

A blind voting system may work, but I think the best way to solve the voting issues is to simply implement a, "You cannot change your vote," system.

Once you make your selection, it's counted as your vote and you cannot change it from that point onward.

The problem with that is that the mini-game players will all wait to the end to cast their vote and we end up with what we already have.

I like the blind vote idea better.

We had blind voting at first, it was a disaster.

At least now we can work the system to get diversity.

it's not trolling if i believed it. well i changed the formatting, people are still liking and then removing likes lol.

When did we have blind voting? I don't remember this at all.

I'm pretty sure the first iteration wasn't blind but also didn't have vote multipliers. We are suggesting a blind vote with vote multipliers.

DAMNIT you're right, well i hate you!!

It's the percentage thats gone anon. at first it was a true percentage, now it's only voting people. Well im not gona edit that, see how much we can get this bumped lol.

But with blind vote we can't game the system, people will fallback to voting their favorite map as an insurance.

Blind voting will put it back to the Frozen City Night/Skirmish in seven out of ten matches like it was in the first iteration.

The mini-game Is the reason there is the diversity we have now as people try to game their multipliers and several people switch at the last second to the least voted - which then becomes the most voted and they all lose their bonuses.

That will not happen with blind voting.

^ This IS the reason we have variety now. It's not a flaw, it's the whole reason it exists; because they are trying to game the system they end up gaming themselves.

I like the idea of blind voting. Another thing to consider is the only reason try to throw away votes is for the multiplier, perhaps doing away with the multiplier is worthwhile as well?

Let it be known, that on this 21st Day of December, in the two-thousand fifteenth year of our Lord, somebody on the mwomercs.com forum admitted that they were wrong, and chose not to engage in a 30+ page circular debate that would eventually require moderator action. Rejoice mechwarriors! All is not lost!

Blind or locked (prefer locked - click at your own peril). I'll jump on this bandwagon.

I can only wish they up that timer very shortly then.
