The Huggin is not where it once was thanks to the nerfs. It should run with 4mg and 2srm4. Artemis isn't needed. You do not knife fight with a Huggin, you look for a fat dumb heavy or assault, get behind it and **** it. Then you run. Set the srms to chain fire and get the cool down module. The constant stream of rockets tends to disorient players. From behind you easily rip open rear torso armor the tear in with the mgs. Run from other lights.

I bought it during the sale as well and its one of those that def gets better with everything unlocked. I've been running SRM4's with 4mg. It won't let you run through a pack of enemy mechs but can be very competent despite people claiming it was nerfed into the ground.

Not sure what the consternation is with the Huginn?
Unless I get isolated and pinned down with lrm's, I'm a goddamn whirlwind of death when I pilot mine.
Seriously, it's a rare match when I don't break at least 3 kills and that many most-damage-dealt. I usually average 5 - 8 hundred points which i guess is respectable for a niche light(It also EATS components).
I usually run 2 SRM4 & 4MG - XL295 and 3.5 tons of missiles 1.5 tons MG ammo, usually get to the match end before I bottom out on ammo.(weapon range & cool-down modules too - of course.)
I also allocate 75% armor up front, and 25% for the back, torso twisting in a raven is very effective.
I eat all other lights for breakfast, and for lunch & dinner I go toe-to-toe with heavies and assaults.. You would be surprised how many people turn and run when I rush them head-on.

I was running mine with the max engine before the nerfs and I noticed a definite improvement with that extra speed even if I lost some ammo.
After the last nerf and the extra pokey hiding from the newer players that made t3 in under 10 matches the little bird is not too good for me. Imagine running a Firestarter minus a couple of small pulse lasers and ammo to explode and limit damage. The machine guns are just booger flippin at the max range for some assists in the stats. They DO NOT HELP KILL anything that is NOT DEAD YET.

It still works.
Oxide is better in almost every way, but if you like ravens and you have an eye for srms huginn is still a good mech.
But then I drive srm2 locusts, so what do I know...

if you want to strip the mgs and arm armor you could probibly swing a pair of artemis 4s or 6s. i keep mine with srm4s and mgs though. mgs are useful as finishing weapons.

I think my Huggin has max engine, 2 jj's, 2 srm4's Artemis, and 4 mg's. With the srm4 cool down it fires at a respectable speed. Far from the best SRM light but it works.
The only scouting match I played, we had a Huggin on our side with an UAC5, a machine gun and an srm2. I lol'd. Try that out, maybe it's the new meta
We won. Miraculously.
