Yes indeed... I am ugly.

I don't know George - I just got your work from the NGNG guys, and right now I think you're the second most beautiful person in the world (my girlfriend is sitting next to me reading this). This is the best thing the Internet has done for me http://soundcloud.co...flowers-posting

Fear leads to anger.
Anger leads to hate.
Hate leads to TENBUX.

That's the best thing the internet has done for me too, and I have nothing to do with it.

I never noticed.

Seriously, i said possibly ugly. Possibly not. Possibly (probably) gaussian mixture model. I said that to illustrate something, not to offend anybody. To illustrate, that any kind of self-important, board using internet crew is possibly not as cool as they feel.

I apologize if anybody applied that to himself, and any feelings were hurt in the process.

And thanks for proving me right about a bunch of self proclaimed goons (and George Ledoux, sorry i forgot you there...) answering anything posted in this thread.

Edited for George Ledoux

I'm pretty sure I said already in this thread that it's a weakness that I'll reply to badly thought out, broad sweeping posts that bear only a tangential relationship to reality. And again, come on, you don't throw around words like "ugly" unless you're looking for a reaction. Also, apologising "if feelings were hurt" is a weasley way of switching it so that rather than you generating offense it's the person being offended's fault. YOU, sir, are not FIT to wear that billybumbler's name.

Anyway, I can't speak for any specific goon but myself, but I don't think ANY of us feel cool - we're posting on an internet forum about giant space robots piloted by (canonically) murderous inbred racists who pilot machines they barely understand. We're posting about SPACE REDNECKS. How could ANYONE with any degree of self awareness think any of that was cool?

You've even put Earth/Starsiege in your sig. That's how cool you think Battletech is.

Edit: Oh god, I just read the text in your sig again and I can't stop laughing.

Starsiege beat the pants off Mechwarrior and I'll hear nothing to the contrary.

Oh, come on, i thought we were just kickin BS here? Thought we were all having a blast? No need to get angry. ;)

That part about space rednecks actually IS funny.

Where do good threads come from? Do they drop from the skies? No. Are they innate in the mind? No. They come from good posting and from it alone. They come from three kinds of good posting: the effortposting, the ironicposting, and the posting of awesome soundcloud recordings.

Me too, good buddy, me too. Sadly, we'll probably never see one, its amazing Tribes (which I secretly and probably irrationally hate for killing StarSiege with its success, though I also love it) is still managing to get sequels.

I love goons. they are best trolls. I deal with them in EVE on a regular basis. They are easily frightened, but will return, and in greater numbers.

being a former member, I can tell you that they are not that fun to actually be a part of, in my experience. Safety in numbers usually equates to boredom. It is kind of a badass feeling being part of such a powerful meta-organization, but I dont like being a small cog in a big machine. Also, their leadership treats the average rank-and-file membership like total garbage. Understandable, since they are trying to herd a massive group of pubescents and technogeek basement-dwelling burnouts.

sorry did that sound too insulting? Im not mad bro.

I'm happy that this thread has not been deleted as far too many of the interesting / entertaining ones have, IMHO.

Even my Clan thread suffered this fate, although I'm in the process of finding out why. Frankly, and in my honest opinion, personally, I feel that, unless I'm mistaken, there is no real purpose to delete and lock so much content, unless that content is explicitly out to hurt another individual and/or entity and/or agent and/or (in the US) corporation.

But then, I'm just a flower, spreading my petals, hoping for a ray of sun. What do I know about forums?

One thing about Goons, I only run into them when playing really good games, so that is good sign for MWO. And aside from that, Goons have never ruined any game I have played.

I simply can't imagine playing a game without Goons. They're everywhere, they're inevitable.

People who think the game is automatically ruined because they're here already are out to lunch. I've been playing EVE since '05 and with my current corp since '08, and Goons have literally 0 impact on our play style.

I've also been in Clan Wars in WoT and they're always funny in forums and chat. The super hardcore RP guys might not adore the color they're guaranteed to add to the game but if you play for fun and especially if you enjoy player-driven politics, Goons are a riot.
