Can someone explain to me how it works in regards to lowering, not lowering and gaining tier when my team looses?
Atm I've seen quite a few different behaviours........
1.) I do 500 damage, 1 kill: I stay the same points
2.) I do 300 damage, 3 kills: I loose points
3.) I do 800+ damage, 5 kills: I gain points
?
1 and 2 I don't get it as the kills are more important as 200 more damage imho?

The thresholds for staying level or gaining PSR are based on match score. Match score, in turn, is heavily but not exclusively based on damage.
Someone else will likely give you the exact match score thresholds, but it's about as you describe: you need a good game to stay level, and an exceptional game to go up, in a loss.
Edit: there you go

MWO, the thinking man's shooter. Evidently you need to think to be able to do damage. It is really mushin no shin, the mind without mind, that allows you to hit things effectively. Relax, use the force, being tense and aggravated is just going to delay your reaction time and cloud your judgement.

Yep. Basically Elo based. You win, you go up. You lose, you go down.
It should be based on performance as compared to team average. You do below 100 match on a win while team average was 250, you drop. You do 250 match on a loss while team average was below 100 you go up. Right now, that is not the case.
Also seperate team PSR from PUG PSR. I think per chassis PSR is going to be too much for their current system. Need to keep it as simple as possible.

Don't worry about moving up. Try a little of everything and have fun. The more you move up, the less fun builds you can run, while still being effective.

Half the damage = Match Score is one rule of thumb, but you can get a higher MS by other things to.
Had a game where MS was above 250 but damage was 180+ if i remember correctly.
