i am currently building an LCT-3M as one of my first mech builds and i was wondering are there any builds that are effective in battle for light mechs?

Thank you for your time

Even better with DHS crit-padding those side torsos.

That's the same loadout as the ACH champion (though only IS SPLs), but lighter, smaller, and faster. And less armored and without JJs. W/e. It's a Locust, and they're so FUN!

I run one with the biggest standard...yes a standard...engine and 5 small lasers. Pew, pew, indeed.

Even better idea, drop a heat sink which will leave you with 9 crits open and upgrade to DHS.

I second that notion. Running without DHS is insanity. this is my 3M, which I had going for a long time but recently tweaked a bit.

Notice I have more armor and less heat in my build.

A fun alternative is 2 ML, and 1LL, with an XL190 and daredevil-stripping the armor on the arms (5 each) and head (1) to scrape up enough tonnage (it's pretty common among the Locust Overhive). It's pokey, for working the edge of your teams flanking maneuver at mid-range. I like it :D

You could also try 5 ML or 3 MPL. 3 MPL is pretty fun too, and the cooldown quirk helps wring a little extra dps out of the 3 MPL.

Edit2Add link for the Locust Overhive ;)

the locust 3M was the 1st mech i bought on my account. You don't see me in it much because i Love the 1E, and the PB isn't bad, but, IMO, it is much better than the 1M, 3V, and 3S. (i don't put the 1V there because quirks :P) However, the 3M is a enjoyable mech to drive, and i equip it w/ AMS support, too, Hers my build: Teh locust, have fun :) (oh, and you can take off the half ton of ammo if u want to go a bit faster :)

The base for all locust builds is ferro, endo, DHS, xl190, max armor except arms (5) and head (1). Then you tweak from there. 3m likes 5spl or 3mpl. I have not tried the Erllas, 2ml build but it sounds like a decent build.
