When faced with extinction a few years back they slunk back into sewers.
From which they spawned.
But rumor has it that a rogue Clan scientist did some freaky experiments on them.
I can only assume some escaped the sewer.
Not sure, but that's the rumor.

back in early CW, both HHoD and PL would sit outside the gate refusing to attack while three of their other 12-mans ghost-dropped Liao planets

this is because both units were/are very bad at clicking on enemy robots
