----------------------
I understand that the best 10 "match scores" are used in the calculation of a tournament score. The match score itself is not used (I believe), but the various components of the match score are used in the tournament calculation.
My questions are:
-------------------
if you get a high "match score", but those match score components lead to a lower tournament score, then:
- Does your tournament score actually get lower? (I am thinking no, since I've never seen my tournament score go down)
- Would a match score that did not make it into the top 10, but would have given you a higher tournament score, be ignored then? (I am thinking yes, because I have gotten high kills but my tournament score never went up because match score was lower)
For example, I LRM boated and and got massive damage, but no kills, thus producing very high match scores. I did that LRM boat for a while and continued to get high match scores, but then I changed to a brawler build which produced lower match scores but higher tournament score components (e.g. kills, solo kills, and most damage). I found that I did not get those scores factored in since they fell below my previous LRM Boat match scores.
Is my perception correct? If so, then it would make sense in a tournament to stay away from high damage and just go for kills from the beginning?
