PGI outdid itself with the presentation and build up towards the announcement. Hey, Russ, Paul and Tina ... I am having a party over at my house. Just wanted to give you the 4 hour notice. What you cant make it? Awwww, shucks.

An earlier announcement might have netted you a few more viewers from europe, including me.
Another time then.

We usually advertise our shoutcasts over on http://www.reddit.com/r/OutreachHPG a few days in advance (as was this one). PGI posting this was pretty unexpected and far more than what we usually get.

yes yes yes a lovely demonstration of pinpoint shooting.
And everything that makes this game so bad.
Where was the diversity, where was the differentiation.
All had similar builds.
Someone mentioned the other day, about running mock up historical Battletech Battles.
That would have been interesting.
It might not be high end competition gamers trying to do to each other before they do to them, using the same tactics and such, but it world certainly be more interesting watching folks play with normal builds rather than the same old optimized builds.
GG and all that jazz.

Nice work, interesting commentary, thanks for sharing.
Two top Comp teams and I took from this show of skill.
The team with the most clan mechs won, so much for the cry babies.
SRM's are clearly not as bad as people claim or so many wouldn't have been used, basically learn to aim.
The game sadly is becoming very dull when a quick draw is considered a comp mech because it can carry LPL, or perhaps that why the matches ended how they did

Hmmm........I might just make that my next project after IS vs Clan is over. Could start out with a battle from the animated series or one of the TRO books. If a group of you guys start showing interest in something like this happening I would be glad to start working on it once my current planned event is over with. Of course suggestions for what scenario to do is always welcome.

The battle this person was talking about was things like battles found in source books either those based on units, or timelines like say the 4th succession war.
Of course it would mean people running stock builds for the re-enactment part of it, but of course you could run it with optimised builds (based on the chassis used of course) and see how it works out.
The only issue would be substitution of mech. Where a unit has a phoenix Hawk, run a vindicator or black Jack instead etc.
It has so many possibilities.
