1. Make it so you can only play owned mechs if you're on premium time. This essentially makes the game a kind of subscription-based game, but still allows new players to try the game via trial mechs for free as long as they like. Trust me, within a week or two, when players see the millions of C-Bills they've accumulated, they'll be scrambling for their credit cards to get on Premium time and put those C-Bills to good use. Nothing feels as good as your first owned mech, customized the way you want it. Trail mechs, never again.
Under this new system: Once bitten, premium for life.
2. Make all purchasable items available for C-Bills. Everything; Mechs, equipment, camo, colours, everything. (Of course this point does not apply to skills that require XP and GXP; Those have nothing to do with MC/C-Bills.)
Even add an option to purchase things with a partial split between C-Bills and MC. PGI are missing a huge opportunity for profit here. So many times, I've wanted that engine or mech and thought "I have around 75% of the C-Bills, why can't I top up the rest with MC?"
I know you can buy C-Bills for MC, but having the option right there on the screen would make it much more tempting and convenient for players to spend MC.
3. Most things would need a complete price overhaul, especially more expensive items like modules, mechs, engines, and omnipods. Players complain about the grind being too long. Personally I do just fine, especially when I jump on Premium time, but a lot of players seem to have a problem with spending more on a module or engine than a mech, which is a fair response tbh.
4. Sure, add an MC purchase option on all items, for players who want to shortcut the longer C-Bill route. Let PGI make that extra cash on the side, why not?
Buying things doesn't give you any unfair advantage; This isn't P2W because you're buying the same things in the end, it's just that MC is a faster method than C-Bills, that's all.
Done! Now you've got a game with a growing base of regular subscribers who are eager to remain permanently on premium time, knowing that everything else is within C-Bill reach, and yet they still have the option to throw in some more MC to grab the odd mech here, engine there, etc.
This way, PGI get regular money and players don't feel the stonewalled or ripped off by "MC-only" content.
This would make PGI much more profitable, and make the game much more rewarding for subscribers who know everything is within reach without having to open their wallets every... single... time.
