Sorry to bring up Dark Age stuff here (hey it is BattleTech stuff we are talking about here....even if Dark Ages was highly imperfect) but I think Adamans from the Dark Age book Surrender Your Dreams has to be my favorite character right now. Paul Moon made him leader of the surviving Smoke Jaguars and handed him the Black Book of the Jaguar's history right before he died. I think Adamans will make a good leader for the Smoke Jaguars as they rebuild and reestablish themselves now that they are freed from service to the Republic of the Sphere. Where they will go and what they will do is anyone's guess but the future for the Jaguars looks pretty good post Dark Ages. In my view, Adamans represents a new leader for a new generation of Smoke Jaguars.

I think my favorite characters have to be Phelan Kell and Jaime Wolf. Phelan because he ironically is from the Inner Sphere, yet seems to embody the original intentions and spirit of the clans better than many of the clanners around him. Jaime Wolf, because he's probably the most professional and successful out of all the mercenary unit leaders out there.
Of course, I do have some love for Vladimir. He may be an a**hole, but he's quite a well formed character, such as how he began to respect Ulric Kerensky during the Great Refusal, showing he may have a short fuse, but deep down really loves his clan. Plus I find him pretty funny, such as his, "Who is this impudent annoyance?!" line when facing off against Kai Allard-Liao's Stormcrow.

MORGAN KELL, the humble Hero.
VICTOR IAN STEINER-DAVION, so fallible but still so epic.

Totally not a significant part of the battletech universe, but i have to say, my favorite is the dropship captin in the intro to MW2 Mercs. Guy lands just long enough for the rookie merc carying the intel or mission objective to get on board and then takes off leaving the other merc to die. Said something about "im not getting paid enough to die" and "Look on the bright side kid, you get to keep all the money"

Main Characters: Victor Steiner-Davion
But secondary... : Jack "One-Eye" Farrell from the Dark Age novels / mini's game. That guy just screams 'gun for hire' if you ask me... I loved how he was played out in his interaction with the Higlanders...

I've always admired Jeremiah Rose and his force of interesting, and lethal, misfits in the Black Thorns.

My favorite would have to be Khan Sarah McEverdy of the Not-Named-Clan (psst, Clan Wolverine). How can you not like someone basically giving the finger to the ilKhan and then saving a good portion of the clan from certain death.

I'm with you all the way dude - Star Captain Joanna.
Natasha Kerensky was a serious bad-***, but Joanna takes the pie. She kicked the crap out of Diana Pryde AND her parents, not to mention her auntie, the freaking Khan!
Also, the only novel I've read about Natasha was really poorly written, with large font and huge spaces. Mega. Lame.
