What I have noticed is the lack of flank guarding killing pug runs. Way too often I see majority of deathball taking cover behind same building/rock and getting heavy tunnel vision.
To combat that, I seek out for a vintage point where I can detect enemy before that magical scene of a assault and few heavies appearing behind your guys and shredding 'em up. Using chat or just pressing R usually atleast gets few guys' attention to the incoming flank and it does work.
But yes, MM sucks and there's loads of bad games. Just endure through them, improve your own play and communicate even if it seems fruitless effort. Maybe combination of your communication and constantly improving game will inspire the others to do the same in the long haul?

There is someone worse than me? Cause i should be well on my to Tier 7 by now. (I have a thread on here too with some good advice in it.)
Unit Tags mean nothing (cause in point). They could be members of elite units but be just as new and/or as poor players as you think you are. Faction loyalties are just that and not indictative of skill.
Yeah, CW is an entirely different ballgame. Teamwork is everything there and steamrolls are commonplace. Falcons, Davion, Wolves, whomever you fight it will often by one sided. (5 CW matches today and 48-14 was the best I saw; 48-3 was worst. Got stomped 5 times and 3 of those matches were decided by the results of the first wave.)
Makes friends, drop with them, and Practice practice practice.

Sometimes you'll have a losing streak, it sucks. If you're the last one alive in that mech, in the mix, doing 200-300 damage you're doing well. I believe that raven has a 30% range bonus. If you put ERLL on it you can shoot to 1000m and out range almost anything. Max out your motor though, anything will kill you if you get caught. It sounds like you have a very good grasp of things, just watch tutorials and practice. Try to join a unit, most are very friendly and helpful towards new players if they have a good attitude. Teamwork is everything in this game.

all new players should start with mediums and heavies. i kind of think the extreme ends of the mech spectrum are for your advanced players who want to learn tactics beyond hiding, camping and deathballing.
