1. Fresh VS Bright Red

The other day I was in a match- Solo Forest Colony assault mode. Our team pushed the enemy cap and a huge brawl ensued, The match was very close and came down to one mech on our team VS two really bad bright red beat up shadow cats. The mech that was alive on our team was a fresh not even yellow armor cicada with er large lasers. The cicada pilot was playing extremely passive and the shadow cats were also playing passive mostly due to their low health. Anyhow the match dragged on FOREVER with about five minutes of no action and all the cicada pilot had to do was scratch these guys to kill them. Everyone in chat was getting pissed. We ended up winning but I deep down inside wish those shadow cats would have killed the guy on my team.

2. Whopping 10 pinpoint alpha on a atlas.

I though that match was bad until today I dropped- Solo Frozen City skirmish mode. I was in a timber and there was an atlas in my lance, our team balled up a played poke style for a bit and then the atlas in my lance started a push and i followed a few foot steps to its side rear even though I still got focused down and they hardly shot at this atlas at all. Once I was dead I realized why, I started to spectate the atlas and it had a pair of medium lasers and a pair of LRM 15s an THATS IT, the enemy must have gotten target readout on him a decided he wasn't a threat. He ended up being the last mech on our team alive and was still kinda fresh, the red team had quickdraw that was kinda beatup on the other side of the map and a spider 5k. LOLZ the spider ended up face hugging the atlas and the whole time the guy was backed up against a building begging for help on VIOP(though everyone was dead) as the spider savaged him slowly till his death.

Sorry for that big wall of text. I almost never exit out of a match and always stay to the end to see whats gonna happen, but these two matches were like train wrecks.... I could not look away.

it's +/- 2 tiers. 5 up to 3, 1 down to 3, 4 up to 2, etc.

I really want to know what that Atlas did with all his tonnage. Considering I can put 2 lrm 15s and 2 LPLs on a victor no trouble. I could put 2 lrm 15s, 2 LPLs, max engine, and a whole lotta ammo in an atlas, or 2 lrms 15s w/6tons ammo, AC/20 w/3 tons ammo, and 2 medium lasers and a 350std in an atlas. He must have had way more ammo than he could conceivable use in a regular drop.

yep, I was thinking this as well. Where did all his tonnage go? Also he may of had that atlas set up for CW but even then its a crap build.

really? I've done probably over a 1000 unit drops but I'm not allowed to play solo? That must be why the solo que is full of players with Unit tags.

I was in a similar situation the other day.The map was Manifold and I was in my Marauder, got killed after doing 500+ damage the game boiled down to a fresh AC on my team and a couple of beat up mechs on the other team.
I thought the Cheetah should ace this then I spectated him.Guess what he was armed with?
An effing lrm 20 and that was it lol.I was glad when he got killed,he deserved it for using a stupid troll build like that.

I think I was in this game, or at least I played a very similar one tonight.

If it was the same game, it was 2v2 and the Atlas was trying to shoot a Spider with 2 ml instead of shooting LRMs at the crit QKD (both side torsos cherry red) 600m away who was brawling with the Atlas' light teammate. Both Atlas and teammate died.

Also he had LRM 15, LRM 20 and 2 medium lasers.

On the question of "where did the tonnage go?" I remember him having over 800 ammo left near the end of the match (spectating). Not sure what his starting number was.

Meh, pug life.
I strongly belive in letting other people drive whatever they fancy, as badly as they want.
I get a bit frustrated when i see a Dire Wolf sniping with 4 ER-LLs at 2 km from atop a mountain and constantly overheating, and not listening to any advice, but whatever, i can just leave the match and drive another mech.

I'm sure people get angry at me too when i'm the last one alive in a Locust 1V and i kite the enemy team for a few minutes before dying.

That was it. I remember the quickdraw having red side torsos.

They shouldn't. You as last man standing have the right to play the rest of the game as you want.

If someone want to play atlas with lrms and 2 mlas then he should do it and noone can forbid him playing like that. It's at least less boring to see such build than another vomit metamech. The team lost because of this? So what? Who cares? It's PUG life.

It's not about you or any other unit member playing solo, it's about loner wolves playing rambo in an MMO (unit or not). Yes, please play solo, I do to sometimes, after 2 entire years of avoiding that queue with every fiber of my being. That's probably good for the game. It's about an attitude and behavior, not about the queue joining.

For some people, being a part of something bigger than themselves is too much of an effort, even if no effort is required. For people like me, being a part of something bigger than ourselves is rewarding, and sometimes enlightening. And that satisfaction is hard to replace, therefore people like me highly recommend it. Well that, and to stop the incessant whining.

Only thing here is his "rights" affected eleven other people's efforts. I strongly believe that you don't have the automatic "right" to harm others.

I kind of agree with you. It's not like you have to bring comp L33T builds but at least be able to carry your own weight in a team game. If you're completely compelled to suck, find a 1v1 or PvE game. At least bring a light, so you waste 35 tons instead of 100. I personally feel like you should only fight your own tier and it should be easy to move down. That way people who take solo drops semi-seriously play with like minded individuals and everyone that goes to solo que to take a **** can have fun playing with themselves down in theta in their LRM assault on Frozen City.

This is why I try to stay alive in 100% of my matches. Call me a pussу for playing slightly more passively all match, but I'd rather be the last mech alive on my team in a winnable scenario than to flip to spectate mode and see that my win is in the hands of a potato that doesn't know how to build or pilot a mech at my level of play.
