Just a fun build I've settled on. I don't plan to change it any time soon, because I regularly break the 250 barrier, and I've only had it elited for half a day. The scores can only go up!

Play it like a commando, rush in when it's safe, slap something larger, then ****** out as soon as you are in danger.

Text build:
3srm2 (3 tons)
1ml
xl190
107 armor
DHS
ENDO
FF

Good build! but I honestly believe this mech needs the extra SRM instead of the 1 ton of ammo. Heres why, this mech is not in it for the long haul, it needs that extra punch when it gets into a sticky situation, you still get 25 shots, and when your dry you still have the medium lase,r so you arent helpless. Just my opinion.

Actually, when played right, I run out of ammo with 3srm2 and 3 tons. 4srm2 is too many, and I would rather have the ML on the mech still.

This is what I run.

Locust

This mech has little armor as is, so avoiding confrontations is the way to go. Since that's the case, you only need enough armor to take a stray shot.

This loadout has brought me some nice 400 ish dmg games.

the one i currently run Peashooter

Just hang on with the big boys until you find someone alone or heavily dmged then dive in, alpha it twice and run away.

Agreed. the 4 SRM2 build is good. It does need DHS though.

I've run the 4 SSRM Locust before (with a 190 XL no less), and I've found that there really isn't much benefit over using just two or three Streaks.

I'm currently running mine as 2 SSRMs, ML, 2 tons ammo, BAP and a 190XL. It doesn't pack the same punch as a 4 SSRM alpha, but lasts a lot longer.

I run OP loadout, but with 4 SRM2, and a small laser. Double heatsinks is a must, 190 XL is a must in all locust IMO. It works. I have done 250+ dmg multiple times with only a fistfull of basics unlocked. Just gotta be careful where you are running, and NEVER run head on into anything. Always run from the side or back. Splat and escape.

Pretty much the same as mine except I put the LRM ammo CT and HD, and didn't take the FF option:

I've had some fun with an LRM Locust as well, though I use this build. I use an XL180 engine which makes it tight on weight versus the XL170, but to compensate I put both LRM5s in one arm and only lightly armour the other so I can fit the bigger engine.
