Ive been struggling to get this damn game to run smooth for years. Even if you were at the bottom of the barrel you could still squeeze out a few frames with a config file. But they no longer offer support for user.cfgs.... The thing is... With the combination of in game settings and a user.cfg (Sooooo much experimenting) i hit the lowest quality possible for the highest framerate possible.

I barely manage to get 20, which is scraping by for a video game. You dont want to know what it dips down to during combat.

With that in mind, lets take a look at other games. I play games on this PC that look beautiful (at least to me, low/med..... easily impressed), yet I can still get a decent 30 frames. Games like Tomb raider for example. The game looks wonderful and plays on my PC, I can even set a lot of things to medium.

Put yourself in my shoes, i can be dazzled by one game's quality and performance with little effort on my part. OR I can struggle for years trying to play a game that I have cut down to the bare basics of quality in order to be playable. My computer struggles with the game that looks 15 times worse than the game that it plays well. That's backwards, its like a mindtwist!!!

I like the Mechwarrior Franchise,Thats why I keep commin back, but for god's sake.... throw a bone our way

I'm running an i7 3770k 3.5GHz, 12GB RAM, and a GTX 970 4GB with OC.

I can confirm that the game is extremely poorly optimized, at least in DX11 mode specifically, the game has very inconsistent framerates and random stutters on larger maps. What's strange is I've been playing this game for.. maybe about a year, and back around the time of the Phoenix mech pack being released I never had a single issue with the game... and I was on a much weaker GPU back then as well.

No issues with any other games that I play, and I play a lot of different things, so it's definitely something with this engine.

Simply: Far Cry. :) Most horrible game engine ever. If I am not informed badly, it was developed for testing hardware so everybody can imagine what kind of rubbish crap it is ... and a top of it all: game devs are really amateurs. Simply: deadly combination. I wonder how this all can even still work. :)

I Had alot of the same issues of low fps(13-32 fps no matter what setting combo used from all low ect. ect. to ultra all the way all same fps) and driver resets ect.ect.

i have primarily played on 2 pc's.

AMD Phenom Black 975 AM3+
AMD x99 Chipset
XFX Radeon HD 7850 OC 1gb x2(crossfired)
Corsair 750M PSU
8GB Corsair Vengence DDR3-1600
Windows 10

This is the PC that had HORRIBLE LAG but Only on MWO, i could play ANY other title on max graphics and be in heaven....but

Windows 10
AMD Phenom Black 975 AM2(not AM3+)
AMD 55 chipset
XFX Radeon HD 7850 OC 1GB
10gb G.Skill DDR2-1066(i think? somewhere around thier)
Corsair 750M
This PC plays on medium DX11 Perfectly on 1080p(but AMD crimson drivers have flashes in % bar on map choice and cap % bars but we aint talking about that)
Ultra i get a skip frame here and thier but thats all.

The first PC i used for 2 years since beta, played perfictly till the 4 FPS glitch came out, then it never played right again, CTD, blue screen, driver reset, terrible(and same) FPS nomatter what setting(32/62 dx9/dx11, every setting known to man in game and in drivers)
One day i decided to clean the CPU fan out(about a year after 4fps glitch, it never Resolved and i bought the rig JUST for MWO, so dident use it for much else)
I noticed my entire GPU had a bronze tinge to it and the motherboard had a fairly good bow in it.
Nothing on the PC stressed CPU or GPU other than MWO. I think when the 4fps glitch came out it fried my mombo and one of the GPU cards. Whenever the game was in full screen during the 4fps glitch my CPU and GPU temps would SKYROCKET!!!!!

I use to think it was simply this engine/drivers ect. ect. But im seeing plenty of people(and other PC's of well worse spec tahn any of mine) play this game just fine.

The two things i think you Really do need is a fairly strong CPU(this game IS more CPU hungry than any ive found)
And a decent GPU and ram.
If you have thoes things, irregardless of intel/amd/nividia what have you you should be playable on some form of settings consistently.
If you cant then i would start running some serious diagnostics on your motherboard/CPU/RAM/GPU.
Mine in the end was failed vregs on the mombo and the only way i was able to isolate this problem was with the system event viewer spitting out IO errors like it was armageddon, but every bunchmark, game ect. ran fine Except MWO, I think in this case poor optimization makes hardware problems WAY more apparent.
