I've played MWO for 80 hours now, during which alot of questions have appeared, but almost as many have answered themselves. A few have not however, and that's why I'm making this post. I guess to make answering easier I'll number them.

Edit: Marked questions answered. Thanks alot guys (:

1.[Answered] Once you reach rank 15 for a faction you are rewarded with "FactionName loyalty". What is this? Is it the same as the Pledge loyalty button when you signed up with that faction? Given that this is the rank where you also start getting MC and that the rank 16 reward is the same for everyone (hamster, which is awesome) I'd assume this is to avoid someone farming a total of 40k MC. Though to be fair if someone grinds their way up to farming 10,6 million loyalty points they deserve the MC IMO. [Good answer, was very vague in game]
1,1. On the sameish topic, is there no way of getting out of faction loyalty? I almost pushed it while I was joining a faction because it was in the normal progress-to-the-next-page position.
1,2.[Answered] If you loose factions points by for example killing members as another faction, can rewards for reaching a rank be retracted? [Assumed as much, but knowing is better]

2.[Answered] In CW once you've queued up with 11 other people and are waiting the 10 minutes for opponents, is there a way to see how many more enemies are needed before they have a full 12 pilot team? It makes a big difference if 12 more people are needed before a match can start or if there are 11 just waiting for a 12th. I know it can be seen from the faction play menu in the planets list, but that information doesn't seem available to me from inside a lobby. [Sadly not an answer that I like. that info should be available insidethe lobby imo]
2,1.[Answered] What happens if after the 10 minutes not enough enemies are queueing? Is it an automatic win? [I'd like to try ghost dropping sometime. Seems unessecary though.]

3.[Answered] I'm facing a problem in CW. At the moment I plan on getting all the free mechbays farmed because setting personal goals helps keep a game interesting and also free stuff (Yay!). Since this would lead to me factionhopping like a turncoat scab, I havn't looked for a Unit to play with, which I normaly would've by now. So, at long last, why are units tied to a faction? Seems unnecessarily limiting to me. I guess the answer could be "Because the devs decided it", in which case I'm gonna go make a Suggestions post.
[Seems I was just plain wrong about that]

5.[Answered] What is the reward Protection proximity and Protected WeightClass? I get them in large numbers yet I have no idea what for. I get from the name and situations I'm rewarded them that it's something about staying in a group even if only a party of two, but what exactly?
[Link to dev post was perfect]

6.[Answered] From experience it seems to me that an assist is gained even if you only very lightly damage an enemy. Is there a threshold for how much damage you must do before it's an assist?
[You'd think more than one damage was needed but I guess it could be the drop that made the cup overflow]

7.[Answered] Sometimes I get the Team Damage 'award' in the match completed screen. Is the number instances of damage, or actual damage? [Good. Usually don't get a number higher than 3 there, and sometimes it's really hard to avoid]

8.[Answered] Why can't I shoot down missiles? A laser should do enough damage to do so, though I supposed it might be difficult to actually implement (code know-nought, have no idea). Maybe another case of devs deciding, in which case I'll have another point in my suggestions post.
[Definitely want that though Posted Image ]

9.[Answered] The pilot module Radar deprivation seemed very useful to me so I spent gxp on it, but using it got me wondering what happens if my enemy has the Target decay module installed? Common sense has led me to assume the tracking time for the enemy is Target decay module tracking time minus regular tracking time. But common sense is warning me about using common sense in cases like that.

10.[Answered] Some weapons can't be found in the Pilot skill trees, unless I just managed to repeatedly miss them. I can't find for example the Clan AC5 and IS UAC5. Is this a lore thing or is there some other reason as to why these weapons can't be buffed with pilot modules?
[Turns out that the inner sphere Ultra AC5 is labeled 'Ultra AC5' while the clan is labeled UAC5. I was looking for UAC, not Ultra AC. Speedreading isn't always good. UI Could also use some clarity and options to sort by the alphabet etc.]

11.[Answered] What exactly happens when you put things in a dynamic armour and structure slot? If I occupy an armour slot, does that mean less armour or that the occupying component is destroyed if the armour is?
[Makes way more sense to me now.]

12.[Answered] Since I'm not very lore savvy with this franchise I feel I have to ask, how lore accurate was the game Mechwarrior 4 in its various forms vis-a-vis weapons? Some weapons found there seems like they could be fun. First time I saw a really tight deathball I just thought "Damn I wish I had a Long tom right now".

13.[Answered] On the same note, if I wanted to become more Lore knowledgeable, more specifically story and background, where would I start?
[Awesome. I'll look into Sarna.net]

These final three might belong in a slightly differenct topic, but...lazy.

14. Sometimes after dying or while in a CW lobby I tab out to do other things on my desktop. Many games have the option "Mute audio on focus loss" or something similar, but I want that option turned off. Since it's not in the Audio menu, is there another way to do that?
14,1.[Answered] On a side note, why is everything except voip muted when I tab out?

15.[Answered] Many areas in this game are beautiful, is there way to turn of the hud and/or hide the cockpit interior? Because some of these landscapes seem worthy of being a desktop background to me. I'd understand if there wasn't though, allowing players to tamper with the hud even slightly in a pvp game usually leads to trouble.
[But not tested yet;) ]

16 and final [Answered]. I think the music in the Faction play menu is really nice. Who made it and is there a place to buy/dl the track (if there is a non-looping one)?
[Sean Kolton made it, while I couldn't find the track I was after on a quick google, knowing the name will help when I search further.]

Thanks for answering.

6. I think 1 damage is enough to get an assist (after the damaged mech is killed, of course).

8. Missiles would be even less useful if we could shoot them down with normal weapons.

10. I haven't checked, but they should be there.

11. Dynamic armor slots are from equipping ferro fibrous armor, which needs 14 slots, but they are dynamic, so they will move to any free slot if you install something that they occupied previously. Where they are has no effect on armor or anything, really. Same thing with dynamic structure slots, which come from equipping endo-steel structure.

12. About the same as MWO. MW4 played much later in the timeline, though, which is why it has more weapons and different mechs than MWO.

13. The battletech wiki at sarna.net is great.

#1 its a cockpit item, give you few extra points if its in your mech
#2 second computer with an alternate account. If you join a TS server most the time someone will not be in the drop and can tell you
#2.1 auto win but you do a ghost drop. You got to kill generator or beacons
#3 join a merc unit as they jump around factions.
#5 support role rewards I believe. There is a post in the newplayer section dealing with earning cb it says as I remember( can't find it now because I'm posting on a phone)
#6 not sure
#7 this is damage you did to your team . it's a bad thing but happens.
#8 be cool and we have asked for it. I'm guessing it has more to do with the missle views on your screen are not what it looks like on the server.
#9 if they have the decay module it will still increase overall lock time but your radar decay still decreases lock time. It still worth using no matter what
#10 few modules have never been added but uac5 is there but they're not in order keep checking. Ac2 is not there because at one time it would have caused ghost heat as I remember. But could be added now.
#11 those are just taken slots your not really putting stuff in them. They will shift around when you drop something on top of them. So nothing happens.
#12 not sure I don't know lore
#13same
#14 not. sure when I switch monitors on my system all the sound turns off
#15 there is a button to turn the lights down in the cockpit. I forget what one.
#16 not sure if there is

1. Not sure about these. I did not pledge loyalty to any faction. If you choose limited contracts you can either let them expire or you can forcefully cancel the contract. In this case the contract will run for 3 more days and you pay 50000 C-Bills for every day you cancelled out.

Example: You have 18 days left on your contract and cancel. You will have 3 more days and pay 15*50000 = 750000 C-Bills.

1.2 No rewards will be retracted. But you obviously have to gain these loyalty points again on the way to the next rank.

2. There is - unfortunately - no way to see that.
2.1 If the timer runs out you will get what is called a 'ghost-drop'. Your goal will be to either kill Omega or some landing beacons appearing on the map. You will have no enemies. So yes, it is basiclly an automatic win.

3. Not exactly sure what you mean. Units can switch contracts just like you do. The only limitation is that all members of the unit share the same contract.

5. Again I cant give you all the details due to lack of knowledge on my part. However, I can tell you that several of these rewards occur if you shoot enemies while in the vicinity of friendly mechs or if you lance is close together.

6. You can definitely get an assist with 1 damage. (I even scored a kill once by bumping into someone else)

7. It should be the actual damage.

10. You just missed it. :)

11. No. Using ferro-fibrous armor or endo-steel structure simply takes some of your internal slots as a trade-off for the reduced weight. These slots are marked as dynamic armor or structure. They are dynamic in the sense that their position on the mech is not fixed. They will simply fill out the last 14 slots you have left. You can therefore safely put weapons there. The only thing you have to watch out for is the maximum number of slots available.

12. Mechwarrior:Online does not have all weapons of the Battletech universe. Some are missing due to balance others simply because they are too advanced in the timeline. The current battletech time of MW:O is somewhere around 3050-3053.

13. For interest in lore look into sarna.net

14. No clue.

15. Right Shift + F11

14 . Voice audio is on a different track (or channel) from the game audit. If you type manage audio devices into your windows search bar and right click whatever devices you have listed there, you will see the options around set as default device, and set as default communication device. Voip targets the communication channel. Don't know what you would change to get the in game voip behaviour to change on tab out though.

16. Google Sean Kolton Mechwarrior Online, some of the game tracks are kicking around, some might not be, not sure. Theres probably a way to just rip the audio from the game, or perhaps its in the game folders, havent looked.

I don't know where you might get it by itself without loop, but you can have it playing and still do Quick Play. Just go to Faction Play to que up the music and you can still hit Quick Play so that you always get the Faction Play music between matches.
