i wouldn't trust a woman anywhere near my kitchen. i let my sister in there to fry her kids some eggs, she used a sauce pan instead of the non stick griddle, and it was one of my fancy copper bottom pans than never burn. somehow she managed to get those eggs cemented to the bottom, i had to soak it for a week. who uses a saucepan to fry eggs omg. then i let my mom in there, she heated water to make her instant coffee. she forgot to turn the burner off and ended up melting the welds on another one of my fancy pans, i had to throw it out and there was a puddle of molten metal in my grease catch. just the other day i had to yell at her for using metal utensils on my brand new nonstick skillet. growing up i had to put out many a grease fire from mom's unatended cooking, good thing i had that field trip to the fire department in first grade or i wouldnt have known how to use that fire extinguisher.
not to be sexist, my grandma could cook great. had a girlfriend who wasnt bad at it either. but others are down right dangerous. i think its more a generational thing i guess.
tldr: dont let women cook, you will live longer (and the food is better)

Kind of like kills you earn yourself. Mmmm, I love the smell of ozone in the morning. Tastes like victory!

I dunno man... I cook a lot and consider myself a damned good cook. And women my age can't cook for sh!t. But I still can't cook as well as my mom or granmamas. There's just something about my mama's cooking that I can't match.

It's got to be a generational thing. Most of the men I know my age are foodies, and are always cooking. Yet older women like my mom and her friends make the best damned food.
Most of the women my age, though? Can't cook and are always, "can I come over to your place to eat?"

Have to agree - The majority of my buds can really load a table, be it cooking, baking, frying or grilling. My female friends on the other hand manage to burn popcorn in the microwave, melt tupperware to stove burners, etc. It's more or less a lack of desire to learn how. Then there's the allure of a man that can handle his spatula.

First off, welcome! There are a lot of great people here who will be happy to help you learn the ropes. Of course this is the internet so be prepared to ignore the minority of jerks.
Secondly taking his statement as "get in the kitchen" is a victim based response. I mean you can't make a big deal about being a girl and expect everyone to roll with it when such a statement has no real bearing on the game and how it's played. I would expect the same kind of "and, you want a cookie?" responses if I loudly and repeatedly thumped my chest about having Irish blood while making such a post.
Of course it would be a different story if I was explaining how such blood meant I would be drinking while playing and apologizing for my games getting steadily worse as the night wore on...

I have to say once: I’m not a Guy – I’m LADY / Female/Woman/Girl/ Femme – but I’m not a Guy!!!

A few days before the New Year, I was looking for a Christmas tree and I decided to play in MechWarrior…
Kay... wouldnt be the first ive played with a woman in MW;O, Welcome anyways! Oh and prepare for mech destruction, pug lyfe and stompy times. I would suggest to get your footing and maybe seek out a unit that will benefit you.

Soon it will be a month since I became a noob in MWO

In the end, you're equal opportunity target practice. Same as the rest of the robots.
But welcome. The last thing that matters is you're a woman. The first thing that matters is how well you blow holes in other robots. Lurk more, post occasionally, get kills.

I hope you find the gaming experience you are looking for, but if I had to give only one bit of advice it would be this:
Find a unit that fits your personality and playstyle be they merc or loyalist. Do not suffer fools who would drag you down and enjoy this game as best you can. This game is more fun when you have someone in Teamspeak encouraging you on.
Everything else is up to your own conscience.
(PS: do not let anyone tell you that loving the lurm is a bad thing. They're just wrong...and maybe jealous. Sure... seems legit.
