Can We Get The Planets Available Reduced Next Patch?

We really only need to have 1-2 lanes open at the most for now. It's 'beta' try it out, shrink it down and get those planets filled up with players. Maybe it will rest the case for both sides of the split queue argument if the mode is only supplying enough planets to keep the queues full.

True, however on the defense side of things you have every planet that is open for attack in your faction, as well as all allied factions. It is a major pain in the *** trying to rally players for a big attack push to take a world when so many are off fighting defense for Falcon holdings. Changing defense to your faction only, just like an attack, and the problem would be much reduced, if not eliminated.

The danger with that sort of system is what happens if you are attacking and no one shows up to defend against you? Then you switch to defend your world's but no one shows up to attack you? You really interested in ghost dropping for the entire ceasefire cycle?
The "defend allies" system was there to insure that pilots in every faction have somewhere they can get fights.

That is a possibility but highly unlikely, if only because you'll get pugs clicking Call to Arms. You may get a ghost drop on the first go if you are unlucky, but by the second there should be someone for you to face.

Do you honestly not remember some factions refusing to put up any defenders on a planet in order to discourage attackers?
With Faction chat becoming more and more used by new players it might be pretty easy to organize a boycott defense as long as the PUGs have somewhere else in their faction to drop.
I'm not saying that I don't like your idea. I'm just pointing out that the potential for organized abuse is pretty high.

On a side note, if they truly make holding planets worth something I really think more people will be playing CW, hopefully mostly unit people searching for free MC or whatnot. That may fix the problem in and of itself.

If the diehards/lore players want to continue to choose planets they are attempting to fight over, who cares really just do it on the back end with w/l tracking so the bucket amounts can be reduced to an amount that fills up matches for everyone.
Logistically its not like it would be rocket appliances to change the alternating attack/counter system to swap between 4 modes at random so everyone has a reasonably fair chance at dropping with all objective sides. After that you just need to count up W/L and decide who captured or defended what planets at the ceasefires.
