Is there any real in game benefit to this? Something I could take to the 1st Mech Rangers and can prove that it's worth it? Last time we took a contract with Liao we got all sorts of Liao drama.

Those are excellent questions!

The smaller population of House Liao means mercenaries under contract will get a live opponent much more often than our neighbors, resulting in higher paying matches and a lot more fun.

I'm not certain when the 1st Mech Rangers were last with House Liao, but right now is a good time for mercenaries with the Capellan Confederation. The Federated Suns and Free Worlds League are both aggressively attacking and defending planets on the House Liao border. We have set targeting priorities, but this contract is for independent command, which means mercenary companies will not be hassled for when and where they choose to fight.

Wherever there is a shortage of military power, mercenaries thrive!
