Time For A Big City Map.

I think its time for a big city map. Something with a combination of wide streets and then more confined spaces. Something with raised roads and ramps and different levels. Something not at all like River City :)

Maybe even one in orbit.

What would you guys like to see in a big city map?

Honestly, I wouldn't mind urban warfare maps. Lots and lots of cramped corridors, really tall buildings. Maybe a few highways and overpasses crossing the place to give elevation to the map.

And maybe even some shorter buildings to give those jump jets some use. Take shortcuts over low buildings, hop on other buildings for elevation - the possibilities are endless.

This game has been in dire need of one since its inception. River City isn't really an urban map, although it's the closest we have. Personally I'd love to see one similar to Defiant or whatever it was from MW4.

Take the right side assault cap area of river city and make that a whole map and you have something. No big open areas unless you jump up on top of buildings. Underpass tunnels and overpass bridges.

i want to see a dense urban cw map. it would be slightly different. the gates would be replaced with a large number of destructible barricades, rubble jammed between buildings for example. this allows you to attack from anywhere. the whole map is city, no rivers or flat areas. attackers would spawn at a small starport at the edge of the city. defenders on the roof top of a building under construction, it might have multiple floors which mechs can navigate all the way to ground level. there would be a lot of elevated roadways, railways, platforms, ramps and sky walks connecting various buildings, and rooftops. the gens and gun would be placed atop other buildings. ground level would be mostly clear streets, but most of the objectives will be in the vertical space. this would give the map a very 3 dimensional play style. you could call it urban jungle because that would be exactly what it is.

other maps i want are a quick play map in the style of grim portico (one of the better looking maps in the game imho), but thats really not in this thread's theme.

I liked the bit in MW4 where you have to escort the limo through the city after the peace talks fall through. There are little checkpoints you have to blow away LRM carriers and mobile turrets. I could see maps where they brought back the turrets just for that.
