so. with the Jan 9th patch right around the corner (Now only hours away) I have a few suggestions that might be useful for the coming year. Mind you i am talking purely Non-CW at this time because in my mind CW is still very broken because the only real way to win (as far as i've seen) is to use the same tricks or Meta builds.

First, Salvage Yard: Want to get a new mech, but don't want to spend time grinding C-Bills or buy MC. Visit the salvage yard. In this mode players enter a bidding on a mech, the condition of this mech depends on the seller, it could be fully equipped, or be missing the Reactor. The type and equipment on the mech influence how much money you spend for the machine. Keep in mind. This INCLUDES HERO MECH's. But for Hero's you MUST bid MC as well as C-Bills. The time of the bidding starts from 1 hour all the way up to 48 in a very Ebay style bidding program.

Second: Increase C-bills and reintroduce Rearm/Re-equip.
This should be fairly clear. but No Battle mech Mercenary, would work for such a small amount of C-bills. These Mech's cost Millions to build, maintain and equip, so only getting under 100K C-bills wouldn't cover the cost. Yes. I understand that the C-bill isn't meant to be too high. But when you think about how much these things cost just to buy, I honestly think that repair costs should be reintroduced, because not everyone has a lot of money to spend on what is supposed to be a free to play game. re-adding Rearm and Re-equip would be a nice Fluff feel for this game, and would make it more along the lines of other MW titles like MW4

Third: STOP NERFING THE CLANS!
I understand that Balance is key. But the fact is that Clan weapons and Mech's are SUPPOSED to be better then IS. Doing the Succession Wars. the Inner Sphere was sent into a technological Dark age, losing all but the basics of every field of science. The Clans never had this in-fighting, so they never lost said tech. in terms of lore. it was almost 300 years from when the SLDF left the Inner sphere. meaning 300 years of violent and destructive war's have ripped through most factions of the Inner sphere. Minus ComStar, which maintained it's tech edge mainly by hiding and stashing as much as it could. However, given our current point in the time line (3051) The Inner sphere is on the verge of a MAJOR tech boost, there own Omni mech's. Machines like the Bushwhacker, Avatar and other such. along with IS versions of Clan weapons. So a major Nerf is NOT going to be necessary much longer. Yes. Maintaining balance will be key to this game. so minor tweaks will be needed. but in terms of balance. the Clans were where they needed to be when they first came out.

Forth: End Meta builds.
Laser vomit, LRM/TAG combo's. they all need to go. and it'd be very easy to fix. I take the Timber Wolf for this example. When I load it out, I always put Missiles on. Mostly because the mech is meant to have missiles. it was BUILT to have missiles. to not put missiles on would be a waste of two good hard points. Now. Say I stuck on two lasers on each arm. one large and one Med. But didn't equip missiles. put a heat penalty on. slower cycle time, anything but the huge nerf's we have on it now. PGI knows what the Meta builds are. it wouldn't be too hard to end it. and with how often we get patches. it would be easy to keep Meta builds a thing of the past.

Forth: Add new Game modes.
I can only offer one suggestion as most of the other game mode's I've thought of were for CW. but an Arena game mode where it would be 4 vs 4 (one of each class) where the pay out was a lot higher would be awesome. people have been wanting that for a good bit of time now, so maybe 2016 would be a good time to start thinking about it.
(Has this reached the TLDR point yet?)

Fifth: A campaign mode
When I say this. I do NOT mean single player. MWO is a game that is built around team work. Lone wolf's are never successful in this game. and that's how I want it. a Lone mech going 1 v 4 in a real battle would be turned into Swiss cheese in under 1 minute. When I say a Campaign mode, I simply mean a mode that replays major battles with up to 6 players. Now, in selection, there would be a mode where players would go toe to toe with AI, (for a much lower pay out in C-bills) or Real players. Many MWO players have said they played Chrome Hounds for the Xbox 360, there were none PVP missions in that game, where someone could 'test' out a new build on non Human, AI targets and maybe earn a little in game money to boot. What I'm asking for, is missions where team A (an Inner sphere lance) would need to escort trucks, leaders of the Inner Sphere, or MFB's (Mind you these HAVE to be MW3 MFB's not the Mobile HQ we have now) players can go to war with AI or human players, and must balance Speed, power and equipment to maintain there attacks.

I will be the first to say. I love MWO (though I know for a fact i'm not the first) and I want to see this game going on for YEARS. so everything I've suggested here are based on my own idea's, thing's I've heard other players talking about. and common suggestions that would make this already awesome game kick the sh!t out of games like COD.

And for those who skipped to the bottom just because they don't like to read. here's my idea summery. GO LEARN TO READ!

Hi Knightshadowsong.

There are a few other posts bouncing around with similar ideas.

1) Salvage yard. There was an interesting idea put forward a while back about finding mech parts as part of the match rewards.
I believe it was in regards to replacing the salvage bonus and providing random bits of equipment to the players at the end of the battles to the extent of finding the skeleton of a mech with no equipment or armour or in the case of omnmi mechs the different omni pods. Not sure there has been the suggestion of an ingame auction house or even a second hand mech trading option.
Be ok for existing mechs that can already be purchased with c-bills but some have to left as inaccessible unless you buy them proper.

2) I think the repair/re-arm would be worth looking at for CW/Faction play but it shouldn't be included for casual quick games. Few interesting ways to do it and there are various posts on this one. It ties in nicely with idea 5) and it being a campaign. Adds a level of attrition but would need a bit of a change to how the drop deck and joining the matches works.

3) Given we are unlikely to see a change for the clans to use stars instead of lances and therefore a change in numbers for teams this is likely going to keep changing back and forth. While the game allows mixed drops for the regular queues it's always going to be tinkered around with. Should that change and the queues be split then... maybe.
It does feel pretty close at the moment however, though the IS mechs have been made pretty tough with their structure quirks.
Keep in mind that this was an effort to increase TTK so at the moment, a small structure boost to the clan mechs may even that balance.

4) Bring on Solaris! Why stop at 4v4. Could be any number of combinations. I honestly believe that this is where the private match system could be copied and adapted. Loooots of posts on this one but would be good to see.
Other types of game modes for regular and faction play would be good to see, hopefully we hear more after phase 3 is out.

5) This sounds like a reference to the upcoming PvE mode that will be introduced. It is meant to be multi-player I believe. Not sure there are a lot of details about it but I think it's pretty high on the list after phase 3. Perhaps it is a mode that could easily be added as another layer of depth for faction play. That to me makes a fair bit of sense.

Anyway, good stuff.
Let us see what the new year brings!
