Sweetfx has already been clarified as okay to do by moderators.

No, this is an avenue they can exploit for money allowing it to be done for free would prevent that

Honestly. I'm fine with that. If they add an official MW1\2\3\4 sound packs I'd be all over 'em. Least that would clear up all the grey areas!

Congratulations on your tenure in PC gaming. There is still zero way to enforce this despite what you may think.

Right... sure.

You can keep that theory, and when you get hit with a ban, or other action taken against your account for violating the ToS, don't come crying to the forums.

I'll make a note of that when I decide to mod my F2P game. Until then you're stuck with me crying about everything else.

That would have been prior to this change. The new change by wording would make sweetfx a no go.

If they start picking and choosing they are going to open a can of worms.

I seriously doubt anyone is going to get banned over sweetfx or a mw2 soundpack

if anything PGI should endorse them because from what Ive seen on youtube theyre massive improvements to the game

I saw sweet fx before and after screenshots and it makes the game look much more vibrant and less dull. And it gets rid of the awful foggy haze thats everywhere on some maps.

and the mw2 bitching betty just sounds way better

And in practice I entirely agree.
But if we strictly talk about the wording that's the implication

Wouldn't that require hacking the server as all that aspect is done server side.
This particular type of mod could be done completely client side actually.

I would like a client side mod that changes those atrocious animated GIF cockpit view screens to something else.

The server sends information into your game, such as being seen by an opposing mech. It could be done, if one had the know how on how to do such a task. (After all, there are wall hacks for this game out.)

Server side authentication just makes it harder/impossible to mess up with damage and health values, and/or have it so that your shots "auto-hit" (though I'm sure that can still be done). It limits the potential of certain cheats from happening, but a lot of them can still happen.

Wont happen. Can't happen. Copyright issues.

Probably could be done, but that might be a larger violation of the ToS. Considered harmless, but might get one in trouble compared to a sound mod. (For the record though, I believe that there is a setting in MW:O to turn off those screens if you wished. I could be mistaken though as I left mine on and never looked.)

There is a setting to turn them off. I just think the default on is horrible and distracting. I'd rather they play hardcore ******* porn than those ugly strobing green GIFs.

bukkakeisreallycensored?

I think they represent electromagnetic reads, possibly on your reactor? Of course, it's for show.

A lot of things are "on" by default that people don't think should be. Such as 3rd person view (is that still on by default?), arm lock, throttle lock (being off), etc. I personally don't mind them.

If that word is a specific type of porn, than I suspect it very likely is censored. I know of some other words I hear commonly and aren't curse words that are censored too. Please, don't try to bypass the world filter, it can lead to a banning depending upon the word. (I know if you type in (for example) "The Raven's-Hit box" without the -, it sensors it out. A little strange, but it does (or at least use to). I'm sure you can figure out why, but yeah...

Edit: Just for my own curiosity... Raven's hit Box. (Looks like they fixed that.)

Thank you, back seat mod. I shall mend my ways.

I really won't though.

Just giving fair warning about circumventing the word censor on the forums. It is against the ToS.

Also trying to explain why something may be blocked by the word filter, even when it doesn't seem to make sense. I once found a word that was blocked, and decided to look it up so I could maybe understand why. Well, I found out it's real meaning (not it's slang meaning), and understood why it was blocked.

I don't know why the attitude though when I'm just trying to be helpful. I'd rather not see someone get banned from the forums because they did an action and didn't know it could be a problem.

I appreciate your desire to help despite my rather laconic attitude concerning PGI's puritan word filter.

If they have done this at least they could enhance or redesign the current sound effects, they sound mediocre.

I find it offensive they have a planet in this game called Butte Hold. There are kids playing this game and they don't need to be exposed to such language.

Some of the most bloody fights between Wolf and Falcon took place on Butte Hold, particularly the fight for dominance of the Intergluteal Crevasse, a key territory.
