HPG, Skirmish has Lances opposite each other, also has Alpha (Lights) and Charlie (Assaults) start near each other. When the Alpha & Charlie group enters and turns right, they face the enemy Bravo Lance thus outnumbering them. Only way to fix this is to do the same as the other two modes, spawn one of those two Lances in between the other two.
Dire Wolf, not sure what to say.

The spawn points on HPG manifold needs to be pushed farther away from the opponents. I played on this map a few minutes ago and before I could walk on to the manifold my whole entire lance is being by attack by two enemy lances at once.
The clan battlemechs are way to squishy. I played the factions battles and I took the Dire wolf trial mech out and I was attacked by two light mechs with medium lasers. Both mechs reduced my mech armor to a point of being critical. Yes, medium lasers does damage mechs but, I shouldn't be at the critical point after a 3 minutes of shooting. To be honest, Clan battlemechs need to be buff again.

I am not sure if this is a troll post or not but I will take that it is not. Though you can, you really should not be taking assaults until you have some more experience under your belt.
If those lights were more experienced pilots your dire would have been dead as they would have been focusing on your dire's legs instead of spraying damage all over the place with their lasers, which is a damage over time weapon. And an assault all by its lonesome in an inexperienced pilot's hands vs a light is a sitting duck. It does not have the speed nor the agility, only the armor/internal structure to absorb incoming damage. Put your mechs back to a obstacle, unlock your arms and aim for the legs of a light. Maneuverability is a lights best offense and defense.
Learn to unlock your arms, this will allow arm mounted weapons more freedom of movement. I prefer to use the Toggle Arms instead of Arm Lock under Keyboard. Toggle allows you to lock arms on or off, while Arm Lock is only temporary Off/On.
- General settings, I have Arm Lock checked
- Keyboard settings, I use Left Shift key on Toggle Arms and nothing in Arm Lock.

If you're actually not a troll, and just an extremely new player, don't try driving stuff like Dires yet, assaults are always tough to master at first, and a trial clan mech is just an extremely difficult way to go for anyone, they're mostly pretty weak builds, compared to the IS trials.
Also, stay away from CW for a long, long while yet, it's not new-player friendly in the least, nor should it be.
Run the better IS trial builds for a bit til you have the cash for some of your own mechs, don't try to rush things in this game, it's a slow grind for everyone, you'll only end up frustrated and getting your butt handed to you over and over without learning anything. Always stick around and watch other pilots after you die, you can learn a good bit like that, and try to watch any videos you can find on youtube for newer players.
Oh yeah, and there's the tutorial now, which isn't terrible, will give you some basics.
