as the title might tell, i´m asking if there isn´t a way anymore to display a faction badge without a contract with said faction?

Before, you could just pick one via the profile, and that "field" still responds but does nothing...
I would prefere it if you could still do that and it would be overwritten by any loyality that you apply or get applied to...

why? because i barely ever play faction wars with my clan account (my main is still the merc account that i play CW with, with my unit of course) ,but for roleplay reasons (yes i said it) i´d still like to flag myself with clan wolf, without the need to subscribe with them, so just in case i want to play some CW with,lets say, some jadefalcons or ghost bears,i could do that without the need to break contract and wait...

tl/dr wants to flag himself as certain faction without needing to apply "officially"

Not that i know of. CW phase 3 will allow you more freedom to contract on a match to match basis but for now you have to join up for a week.
