Personally, I spend a lot of time just hanging out with one person at a time, I'd love to see 2-player groups allowed for the regular solo queue... because dropping six 2-man groups against an 8-man and 4 other people is never fun.

I agree completely. MechWarrior (like all team games) is much more fun when played with a friend, but as soon as I queue up with someone the game drops me in matches where the other team has eight or nine or sometimes even twelve (twelve!) stackers, while ours is just a couple of small groups and some individual players. No fun at all. So +1 for making solo queue 'Solo/Duo Queue'.

maybe a limit of 2 or 3 *2men* per pug drop would be reasonable

No thanks. While I feel your pain, I think a better solution would be for PGI to have the group queue "split" (behind the scenes), so that small groups are lumped together more often than big groups. 2/3/4-mech groups combined to make a 12-mech drop. Or maybe have a preference (like the server choices) about whether you want to drop 8v8 or 12v12 and make 8v8 have a 4-mech limit to groups.

It's bad enough when you're in solo queue and get people sync-dropping into the opposite team, no need to let actual groups do it on purpose.
